And, FYI, swimmerinstinct was right. Just because a photograph is computer-generated doesn't mean it's automatically fake. In some aspects, yes, but not entirely. The photoshopped images of starry night skies might've had lesser stars, but nevertheless it was an image of a starry night. And another point, can you explain a concept in this video that's fake? No, you can't. Sometimes, flat-earthers just make claims instead of doing any proving. Like how the moon's phases happen, why we it seems like the moon is "following" us when it's so near, and when it's not, how can there be night and day?

Gravity is not a force. Its not even a constant unless in vacuum. Where do some folks get this stuff? I know they simplified the ideas of physics for 3rd grade elementary school, but geez! First off on the video, this title says "round". LOL, my table is round, We have round windows....Because round is a 2D description. I mean, how does one start a topic and make a video on it without even the most basic of understandings? Amazing! @@1laforees829 There definitely is. Think about it like this. When the initial COVID breakout happened, conspiracy theorists falsely claimed that 5G towers were causing people to contract COVID. Because many people believed this, there were a few that decided to take it to the next level and burned down some 5G towers. This could've resulted in the fire spreading and causing damage to property(as if it property damage hadn't already occurred) and injury or even death to people. People that subscribe to flat earth seem to lump themselves in with COVID conspiracy theorists, so making this analogy makes perfect sense. So, yes, there definitely is a need to debunk certain beliefs. While some beliefs may not be inherently harmful, they can lead to attitudes that lead to harm.

It would always be day time if the sun were orbiting above us. It is a ball. Not a spotlight. Even if it somehow was a spotlight, we would still see it off in the distance no matter what. Flat Earthers say there are holes in what scientists say. Well the irony when every fuckin thing they say is flooded with holes and can be explained with real science which is in fact, not full of holes. They can't explain sunsets or rises. It would be completely impossible on a flat Earth. They can't explain where the South Pole is. Antarctica is not a wall of ice around the Earth or someone would have found it. Actually you could easily see it on any coastline if it existed since we can see millions of lightyears away. The horizon looks flat because we are ants compared to the size of the Earth. There's absolutely no way somebody would not have said something if we were being lied to.

Paul Atcliffe I assume you think this whole subject is a waste of time and that this video is useless; which could be said about most videos on youtube btw. However since _you_ are spending your time so well by watching and commenting on _useless_ videos, I don't see why you complain about that. And as I said, this video ain't useless: 1.) The video helps people understand how maths can be applied to understand the world, and it can give parents and teachers ideas that will help them explain the earth's roundness to their children. 2.) There are a decent amount of flat earth believers out there, and they believe that all the astronomy science is wrong and all evidence is just faked by NASA to manipulate us. Now if someone has been indoctrinated to believe that all evidence is fake, you'll have no chance of convincing them the earth is round if all you all you can say is "the earth has been seen from space", because they ain't gonna believe you.

+Gredofa.I do indeed believe that. Your second point effectively cancels out your first though. I don't really see this as an educational video, frankly there are a lot more suitable out there. Look up Kahn academy or any of the reputable astronomy or physics sites. I am entertained/shocked/annoyed by many of the responses on this and similar videos. Anyway I'm done with flat earth for the moment any points about which I may have had any doubt about at all I've researched to my own satisfaction (flight paths from Australia to South America of which I had no knowledge for example - now I'm somewhat of an expert). You can also prove it with a sunrise or sunset on a partly cloudy day. The clouds higher above you will still be orange even after the sun has set because the sun is still able to reflect off the bottom of those clouds. That's how ancient civilizations probably knew it.

I don't even know how something that had been proven centuries ago (that being that all planets, including the Earth, is round) can have lost legitimacy, especially since we now have much more proof than they did. You say flat earthers believe what they see with their own eyes. So you went all the way out into space, hundreds of thousands of kilometers away from the earth's surface, and saw that the earth is flat? Or was it from some hot air balloon or something which goes, at maximum, about 1 kilometer in the atmosphere? You say we believe we live on a spinning fire ball. Well, the Earth is "fire" only on the inside, and geothermal energy and volcanic eruptions (the ones on the land at least) are real things to prove it. You say we believe humans came from monkeys. We accept that because it is the most believable theory we have of our origins. If you have an alternate theory which you want me to believe, I'd have to hear it first.

I've been friend with someone for 2 years and yesterday he told me he started talking about different conspiracy theories , a few crazy ones a few not so crazy. Flat earthers in the comments section, try to refute my claim. What causes us humans to stay on earth? Gravity, what causes objects to fall from the sky towards the center of Earth? Gravity. It has been scientifically proven by physicists that the force of gravity depends on the distance between earth and other objects. Lets say the earth truly was flat. If we were to stand at a position farther away from earth’s center, then we would experience a force of gravity weaker compared to standing at a position closer to the center. But do we experience different forces of gravity at different positions of Earth? No. How is that possible? Because the sphere is the only shape where no matter where u stand, u will pretty much be always at the same distance from the center of Earth. Thats why we experience the same force of gravity no matter where we stand on Earth, because its a globe and we will always be pretty much at the same distance from earth’s center

You don't even need to do research in order to figure out if the earth isn't flat. You're own eyes and common sense can debunk flat earth. An excuse flat earthers use to debunk the horizon is that our sight is so limited, we can't see past that point. If that were true, we couldn't see stars or even the sun. Well it does. Take a weather Satellite and put it up into the air - or down as we call it today. And what you see is the Satellite stopping and then it just moves along with the weather because it can´t go further - it can´t go beyond the weather. No ´space junk´. It´s all because of the planet´s gravity. If you wanted to take an object and actually place it beyond the Earth you´d have to travel through either of the polar openings but even then - the planet´s gravity would simply force the object to bump on it´s surface and stay there. For a spaceship to leave the planet it´d have to leave through either of the openings and it´d have to be propelled by some kind of microgravity. Otherwise most of your video makes sense to me and is well done.

You can add two more things to the mix: GPS and old-style navigation. GPS assumes a round earth and it works. well thats a good question , and the answer is that its still an issue because no one has conclusively proven either way that its flat OR round. This argument should be easy to end dont you think? But the scientific community has not ended it once and for all, because they cant....the very fact that this argument is still going on should at the very least make you sit up and pay attention to why its still going on. If you really listen to the arguments given for the ball earth by scientific professionals, you will notice that they always state the obvious, meaning anything you have learned about it in school. And they do it in a mocking tone when bringing up any flat earth theory. Now think about that. A prominent scientist that should be encouraging people to question things and test theories and help them to understand something that they are having trouble with, is out there making fun of people and calling them crazy and stupid for questioning what they have deemed as fact. Instead of giving solid and convincing evidence and guiding them through the answers to those questions, as a true professional man or woman of science would, they are mocking people and treating them in a condescending tone that basically is nothing more than a tactic to scare anyone into asking any questions at all for fear of being ridiculed. All NASA would have to do, is have the ISS film a 360 degree turn (which they are supposedly doing already to create artificial gravity) and that would lay every rebuttal to rest INSTANTLY. You can't, hence you will never see it. They also allow all the NON SCIENTIFIC retards attempt to explain the holes in the narrative. It is amazingly hilarious at the comments they make...then call others stupid. ;)
