My favourite part of Shadow's Ultimate Sacrifice is the genuine amount of respect and understanding Sonic shows for him in the aftermath, especially when Sonic is the last to leave Ark saying "Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog." It gets me every time.

My favourite part about that is the entire game sonic refers to shadow as faker, that fake hedgehog. And eventually he calls him shadow in the final fight and in the end he says. "Sayonara shadow the hedgehog" and I love how it ends with shadow saying sonic might be the true ultimate life form and sonic calling him a true hedgehog. Sonic adventure 2's ending is beautiful.

Yes i agree with this whole heartedly. Shadow was no longer bound by the chains of his past and was living in the here and now and for his future. Him becoming an agent was the best fit for him. Personally one of my favorite moments was from Sonic Adventure 2. After hearing that Rouge is trapped and in danger, something cracks inside him as he remembers Maria, and speeds through White Jungle to save Rouge before the island explodes. I loved that moment because it shows that Shadow had a heart of gold deep down.

I'm just happy that Sega acknowledges that the 2000's Sonic games happened and know that those games do have fans, despite what some game journalists or KZbinrs would have you believe. It is brought up multiple times by multiple characters, Sonic and Elise still remember that it happened, and Crisis City is in Sonic Generations. You cannot "erase" a past event, you can only move it to another timeline. If it was erased then they would have erased the reason they went back in time which means they never would have went back in time to erase it in the first place. Plus, the official Sonic Encyclospeedia documents all the Sonic games, and the only game it lists as non-canon is Chronicles. Not 06, which means the book considers it canon. Sonic 06. Is. Canon. Goodnight.

Yes, that game has a lot of flaws and it's a broken mess, unfortunately. Even so, it doesn't mean you can disrespect some fans' opinions about the things they like about it. And I say this as someone who doesn't like '06 that much (at least, in terms of quality).

I also like how in the Twitter Takeover he chills out with Sonic and friends and Eggman. It’s so cool to know that he has a different side to him, like he smells like lavender. He’s a Swiftie, he “saves people in need at the last minute” and EVEN VOLUNTEERS AT A SOUP KITCHEN!! He bought Amy concert tickets for her birthday (albeit last minute), he tries to make a good gesture and even going with her is wholesome.
