My favourite new feature so far in 2023 is the unlimited potential for encountering cheaters! I LOVE engaging in content and then being surprised by a flying player dropping kegs out of the sky! It's especially FUN being matched in hourglass PvP against crews who have aimbot and can restore their ship at will! They can even restore MY ship! So much fun!

There are still cheaters on Xbox servers. They use what's called a hack client.

@@ClassicShiba true, but that's only due to fewer players knowing about the hack clients. With PC it's so rampant because you can install it directly on your equipment. The other issue is players taking advantage of game breaking bugs. If you find a game breaking bug, report it to Rare through the Sea of Thieves website so that they can fix it.

@@aandy2042 they do fix bugs. Sometimes it takes them a while. I've even seen bugs come back because of weird interactions from an update. There's only a few bugs that I know of that the devs left as a feature (harpooned rowboats being heavier than the ship, the sword lunge, and people using tall tales to server hop). The most complained about issue is hot reg but that's coming from people who don't understand that all you can do is manage and minimize it in an online environment. You'll never get hit reg perfect.

Not entirely sure why you unlisted the other one but please please PLEASE start making tall tales rather than the story-based adventures, the adventure format worked for the Golden Sands, shrouded ghost, and other community events, but imo it really isn't that fun for these more linear story-driven events

The devs are focusing on producing more FOMO whilst ignoring the rampant increase of hackers. It's quite hilarious, really. They actually think the playerbase would increase just by adding time based events when it's less likely to appeal for newer players. And what's worse, retention is a hit or miss when you get slapped in a server brimming with hackers.

You are imagining things. Teleportation and invulnerability are game features. They were introduced with the newest update. They are not cheats. They are only available to new players with under 10 hours of gameplay as a boost in order to boost their abilities just a little and achieve fairer fights.

@@unlikelysuspect5491 Perhaps I should elaborate. I am a Veteran at the game. (I played since closed beta.) The issue is a recent decrease in my skill and confidence Season 8 onwards. In the past, I was unstoppable and felt awesome! But nowadays... I took some of the nastiest beatings in any war map campaign ever. Only won once against a sloop afk at devil's ridge. during my time. My group has too dramatic to coordinate, and I lose every pvp confrontation. No matter the tactic, no matter the ship, I always lose. My style of combat needs crosshairs, something the game definitely lacks. So I shoot in the most ineffective places. I'd see others flaunt their pvp trinkets and curses in record time. Since Cosmetics are status symbols, my stories and experiences meant nothing. I get depressed every-time I start a session because I always assume I will lose everything and gain nothing. I have given my ship the "Ill fated" title, and just.... give up when I engage in pvp. No amount of practice can help my lack of aiming a blunderbuss, poor decisions on the wheel of a ship, or the lack of confidence to board a vessel. Might as well name my ship to "The Victim", and nominate myself the biggest loser in the Sea of Thieves. 😓😰

I absolutely can't stand the adventure format of the story. Time limited story is not how you should tell the main story. I joined back to the game late season 7, and only found out about the adventure story after adventure 9. I just got my friend to join the game as well, and we are both really confused. I just want to experience the whole main story.

Yes, it's intended to be an ongoing feature/game mode. So you can take your time working towards it. The only limited time ones are the plunder pass (some of which my eventually come back in the emporium) and the adventures.

I only really ever solo sloop and really wish I had a sweet captains chair to go with my captained sloop! :D Edit: also I would like to be able to hand in athena flags to the stranger/sovereigns. Reapers can hand in reaper flags, but athena can't turn in athena flags. Seems strange and reaper get a money advantage in pvp being able to sell both. (yes I prefer guardian over servants lol)

The reaper makes sense, fighting for dominance, but Athena's doesn't. You can still turn in reaper flags to the stranger though, glad that helps!

Something that should've been mentioned is that anyone can attack anyone at any time. I get that it sucks to have hours of hard work to be taken away by a crew that got on 10 minutes ago, but that's a core mechanic of the game. If you're like this, you need to learn to adjust your playstyle to either avoid pvp, or get better at it so you have a better chance at defending incoming attackers. You will lose, and it will suck, but remember: loot isn't yours until you sell it. If you can't accept that, maybe this game isn't for you

Hopefully this year's buried treasures include an anti-cheat, replacing time limited adventures with literally anything else because 99% of the playerbase despise them and rare finally abandoning their outdated predatory fomo practices. But we all know we'll get none of that, instead we'll get a few bilge rat reskins in another shade of brown and a horrendous glowing set, content that'll be removed from the game completely after a while and the same false promise that the game will improve which can never be fulfilled while they support old gen consoles and use servers that can't handle their own game

Make this 3rd person! Would make the game so much better. Also, make the pvp combat game play better. Need more gear and designs, upgrades for ships, and a gallery of ships to chose from. This is just to start. Good game, just could be a lot better :)

3rd person or upgrades does not fit into this game. New players should have same stats in pvp like players who play for 5+ years. The only thing that matter should be skill and expeirience.

1) Anti-cheat? 2) Easy report system? And hardware identification against cheaters with new accounts? 3) Kraken rework? 4) Skelly brig? 5) New PvE sky events? 6) Reduce Eye of Reach damage from 70 to 65? 7) Harpoon cosmetics? 8) Ship repair dock cost = 0? 9) Reaper outside his tent for easier loot selling? 10) Maximum of 3 ships in an alliance? Or the removal of alliance servers? 11) Marketing that informs you about how much of a PvP sweat-fest/trash-talking kids this game actually is instead of hiding the fact with pretty adventures and awesome loot?
