I’ve confronted a male Karen before. It was maybe ten years ago, at Christmastime. Unhappy with the long single line at Marshall’s, he loudly berated the staff for not opening more registers, which they weren’t allowed to do. When he didn’t get the response he wanted, he tried to stir up the rest of us. I wasn’t in the best mood, but I was trying to enjoy my shopping trip and he was hashing my gig. So I shouted, "We’re ALL tired of waiting in line, but screaming about it won't make the line go faster. It just gets on everybody’s nerves. So SHUT UP!” The majority of the other 15 or so people in line murmured in agreement or outright laughed. He shut up, took his turn, and left quietly. The cashier quietly thanked me, as they weren’t allowed to say a thing. I got a discount!

I once confronted a Karen so to speak, my dad and I had gone to pick up some pizza and there was a woman complaining about her order getting messed up. She was just exploding on the poor cashier, claiming she was getting Chicago mad at him. She then left and I'm sure we all thought it was over, but then she came back in and started up again. So by then I had enough and snapped at her saying, "HEY! Stop yelling at him! It's not his personal fault your order got messed up!" She got this big shock look on her face and the manager was finally able to get her leave for good. But the best part of all, I got some cheers and applause from some of the workers in the back lol

I work retail. Once for no reason a Karen came in yelling at me stating that I disrespected her daughter (I had just rung her up) and some other nonsense. A customer who saw her came running over ready to push her out of the store but Karen left before the customer could do so. Last thing Karen said was that I must be broke working a minimum wage job. I’m actually a manager. Customer asked if I was ok. I told the customer jokes on her. I actually live in and have my own house at this part of town, which is quite affluent. I doubt she owns a house let alone one as expensive as mine. (She had a cheap dye job) (I got lucky in real estate 10 years ago. My current house had nearly doubled in value since I bought it 5 years ago) Customer and I shared a laugh.

I work at Market Street and during one of my shifts at self checkout, an older man came up and literally DEMANDED I tell him where the carts were. We were very busy that day, and so I told him we might not have any available at the moment, to which he huffed and walked off. Later, he came back to self checkout with a cart full of groceries and told me to start checking his groceries. When a woman at another self checkout terminal told that self checkout means you scan your own groceries, he snapped at her to “shut up, bitch” and stormed off. After his groceries were scanned at a register, he then came back to self checkout and told me that I had lied to him about not having any carts, and that there were dozens in the parking lot. When I told him that I didn’t know that, as I can’t really leave me post, he got up in my face and SCREAMED at me that I “should’ve known better”. The whole time, I kept a straight face as he yelled at me, but internally I was just trying not to laugh at his genuinely cartoonish anger.

I wasn't involved, I just witnessed it, but I was buying groceries, in the meat department when it happened. Evidently, a woman had ordered some special cuts of meat, and came in demanding that the butcher give her her order. The butcher listened to her rant and impassively told her that when she called in the order that she'd been told that it would take nearly seven days to fill the order because they had to order the meat and have to get it in before they could cut it as she asked, and it had only been two or three days since she'd called in her order, and it would be ready when they had told her it could be picked up. Also, that if she continued demanding it before it was ready they'd cancel her order and cut it and package it up for the regular customers. She got a strange look on her face, like a beaten dog, tucked her tail between her legs (figuratively) and slunk away quietly. I must say that Karens are very rare in the area where I live and that's because the customer service people around here will not put up with them.

On the way home I helped a Guy and his Daughter get out of their car that was on it’s side. No one had stopped to check on them until I did.
