Great tips. Just came back from a 6 month solo trip across South East Asia. TOTALLY agree. 95% of backpackers are friendly and are somewhat like you most of the time (They are travelling). I arrived in Bangkok alone and was alone for a total of 20 minutes. I ended up travelling with a group of 20 people. No need to worry. lol! * "Bring your own shit" LOL!

Such great tips! My friend left me in Sydney as she went on to New Zealand and at first I was so terrified I didn't know how I would cope alone but I learnt that being alone was amazing! It's made me so much more confident and has certainly changed my outlook on travelling solo. Especially loved the mention on having so much independence - love now being able to get up and do whatever I want whenever I want. I'm here in Sydney for a little longer and I think I remember you saying in one of your videos that you are from Surrey (me too!), would be great to meet you if your still in Sydney! Enjoy xx

When you travel to different countries, what’s the best way to convert money? I know the airport has the worst rate 🤦🏽♀️
@BackpackingBananas6 жыл бұрын
Well, supposedly the best way is with a Travel cash card like monzo or weswap. I am still sceptical as I’ve heard of many travellers having issues. I personally just get cash out at local ATMs in the country and never have any issues 🤷🏼♀️ I honestly don’t think it makes a huge difference in the price either.

Great vid. I guess my main concern about going solo is maybe the age of most travellers, I really wanted to go when I was 21 but I got offered a job I couldn't really turn down, I'm never t nearly 27 and still thinking I really want to go! But my concern is if everyone in the hostels are gonna be like 18 :/
@BackpackingBananas8 жыл бұрын
It does depend on where you go, Oz/NZ has lots of younger travellers but I found Central America and South East Asia generally had an older age range of backpackers
@Aosham928 жыл бұрын
Just go for it!! If you don't do it now when are you going to do it? Age is just a number at the end of the day and you can learn a lot from the other travellers what ever the age range!!
@benstephenn8 жыл бұрын
would you be able to answer; did you always travel with friends you met at hostels or did you travel alone at times? I'm interested in doing this but anxious about making friends
@BackpackingBananas8 жыл бұрын
I did a lot of both. It's always daunting packing your bag and leaving any location completely by yourself but it's also exciting. You'd be surprising how easy you make friends without even trying.
