You are correct about economy vehicles on Turo I have two economy cars I have a low end Hyundai Tucson 2013 and I have a Honda that's a 2019 and the Tucson actually does better than the Honda because the Honda cost more and it's not as appealing to the masses and it's not that the Honda's not getting bookings it gets plenty of bookings it does very well however the Tucson is like a sure bet and the Tucson still gets more bookings than the Honda even though the Honda does well. So I totally agree with you about the economy cars I don't know if I would select the cars that you purchase per se I think I would purchase some different low end economy cars and I might go a little newer I think some of yours are a little too old for my liking but I would say I agree with you like 95% I would just go a little newer on the cars that you have. The main reason why I would go newer is because I don't have access to a mechanic 24/7 and I recognize that HP is a mechanic and that's wonderful that he's able to fix the repairs as needed but I don't have anybody like that so I personally choose to go a little newer for a little bit more reliability a little less mileage a little less wear and tear but still economy no less but I think you are doing an amazing job. So in short my older Tucson as of now is performing better than the newer Honda plus the older Tucson has a lower car payment actually it's almost paid off the Honda being newer especially in this economy has a higher car payment also has higher insurance so that cuts into the profit. I'm saying all this to say that you were right all along 🥰🥰🥰

I don’t agree with Number 8. There is a huge and important factor, when you meet your guest he will use your car with more respect and understanding that it’s someone’s car. Not just a company car. 2nd factor is you can react and tell your guest after trip if something wrong like damages, smells etc. So my advice is: MEET YOUR GUEST WHENEVER YOU HAVE TIME AND OPPORTUNITY.

So I have a question. I'm in the research and somewhat planning phase, haven't started doing car rentals yet. Your advice on buying older used cars I find myself questioning. The terms I read are such that cars cannot be more than 12 years old and cannot have more than 130,000 miles. Wouldn't a newer car, say 1-2 years old with low mileage, be more valuable for the fact that it can continue to be rented out longer? I'm still thinking about the first car I would buy for this, so maybe I'm just in the beginner phase as mentioned. Perhaps if I grew the business one day I would get some older cars as well...as of now it seems to me that a newer car with low mileage that has a long time perspective on renting out is the way to go. Thoughts?
@odeyemi61342 жыл бұрын
Turo rep said that it's a requirement to list your vehicle and not otherwise, Vehicles with 200,000 millages can remain on the platform if in good shape same as the older cars. If that answers your question.
@jackiechan27 Жыл бұрын
I could be wrong, but I think somebody told me that as long as your car starts on true it is not older than 12 years old and has less than 130,000 miles that it’s OK to continue doing that car for years to come, even after it exceeds those things, but as long as it starts off under that … if that makes sense😊
