Interest is way too high for financing right now. I have a 700+ credit score and interest is over 7% Not worth it for turo at those rates

You are right about the 8k -10k cars vs the 24-30k . Is very true because my 2013 was going out for $55 a day and my 2019 was going out for 65 It wasn't a huge profit jump but one car has a higher payment The other one doesn't have a payment anymore so I'm good there but yeah you are absolutely right about that. The only part I do disagree with is that some of those 8 to $10,000 cars are going to have mechanical issues and that is where things get funky.

I think it all depends on what type of $8-10k car you get- when you get into the realm of older cars you have to be VERY selective on the cars you choose, because if not you’re 100% right, maintenance will be an issue. But if you buy reliable cars it’s not an issue at all- we have cars that in the years we’ve owned them have never needed anything more than oil, tires and brakes, but others (like our kia) are newer and constantly having issues. The condition of the car you buy becomes much more important the cheaper and older the car is

If you can get it fixed or even learn to on a car which has issues, that’s going to help you get the car at a lower cost. Say a used car is $10000, but you can buy the same car with issues at 5k and the repairs cost 1-2k. You have that car for 7k. You can sell it in the future for around the same price you brought it or a bit more as well as make money from it whilst you have it. Labour costs a lot and if you can learn it yourself, you can cut out that labour cost and pocket it for the long run which you can reinvest into your business.

@@VoiAhoyTV this really depends on the vehicle and what's wrong with it because a lot of times when you run into repair cost of 1 to 2,000 a lot of times there's other things going to be wrong with it to coming down the pipeline so I don't know this really depends

WARNING: the KBB Dealer Used car prices are steady and slightly increasing, week over week, for the first time in the last 8 months! The only prices I see continuing to decrease are Trucks, EV, and like new luxury cars. That and tax season might start seeing prices going back up, in the short term.

Fantastic Aubrey! Question about the actual purchase - With cash cars do you tend to lean towards private sellers? (FB Marketplace and the like) Or still look at dealerships as an option? I ask because last month when I went to a dealership to pay in cash - the salesman LITERALLY laughed me out of the dealership saying he didn't want to deal with me unless I financed it because he would "lose" money on the deal... TL;DR - where do you look for cash cars? :)

Financing a vehicle is a bad idea. I think if you do gig work and cash flow really well?? Then you can buy a $5k cash car almost monthly. I regret buying a 2019 Lincoln for turo lol! Bought it last October too when prices were high and so it's $5k underwater. Oof!

I am Muslim and we don’t do interest rates when buying a vehicle only it’s 0 APR and I find a dealership that can gives 0 % if paid in 2 years only and that’s $1500 a month The car is 2023 Toyota RAV4 base model Should I go for it. Stay away from Turo. Gave me a ban. Guest said I had low tread on my tires. I literally had a tire shop say I had the min 4/32. They didn't care. Since I argued they unlisted all my cars and cancelled all my reservations. I had 5 cars. Not fun

Don't do Turo. They shut down my account and said it was a mistake and they would fix it however 5 days later and numerous phone calls they will not help. So I have no idea where my 2 cars are and if they are coming back. I have no recourse except to now report them stolen. Also contact my legal. Don't do it.

A $10,000 dollar car will probably have higher maintenance fees and higher miles, whereas a $20,000 car would have lower miles and less maintenance. Stick with Toyotas or Hondas
