Yeah. It never a flop. Brits television shows, notorious for short seasons and episodes. Extremely long seasons shows like Dr. Who is a rare feat. Unless it's a soap. For a comedy show. On average 3 or 4 seasons long is about right. Nevermind how popular the show is. WatchMojo unfortunately viewing it from the American perspective. When tv shows can run for 6 seasons on average, and popular sitcom can run like forever. Or at least it used to prior the streaming era.

Yeah, Spaced is not a flop though? It's often held up as one of the greatest British sitcoms ever made and basically launched the careers of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright! You wouldn't have had Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz without Spaced.
@manchesterunitedno74 ай бұрын
And knowing British television quirks. Long lasting shows like Dr. Who is an extremely rare creature with dozens of seasons, and still counting. Only soap shows run matching out. 3-4 seasons long shows are the average spans over there. So Spaced seasons is about right.
@BadgerOff324 ай бұрын
@@manchesterunitedno7 Yeah, in England we don't even refer to them as 'seasons', we refer to them as 'series', and they're usually only 6 half-hour long episodes, rather than 20-odd, near hour long episodes. I always thought 'seasons' were labelled as such because they drag on for so long that the seasons in real life change multiple times before the end of one lol. 2 series is the usual for British sitcoms, but occasionally 3 or 4 are made. Spaced only had 2 series, Fawlty Towers only had 2 series, The UK Office only had 2 series, The Young Ones had 2, but then things like Bottom and Mighty Boosh had 3. Monty Python and The Fast Show got 4, but they are more sketch comedy shows rather than sitcoms.

Freakazoid! should've been bigger than it was. 2 seasons is too short for any series. My sister and I used to laugh so hard at this show! Some of these I haven't heard of, like Sports Night, but then again, I'm not a big sports fan. Some of these I didn't even watch, like Freaks and Geeks. Eerie, Indiana I haven't seen, but it definitely gave off Goosebumps or Are You Afraid of the Dark vibes, I can tell. I don't remember watching My So-Called Life, but I have seen Claire Danes in other things, and she's pretty talented. I liked her performance in Shop Girl, which was based off of a novella, written by Steve Martin, who also starred in the movie, which pretty much followed the book. Her performance in Temple Grandin was amazing (Emmy winner!). As a woman on the Autism Spectrum, I found the movie to be pretty inspiring. Does anyone remember Herman's Head? For a sitcom, it was pretty unconventional. Definitely predated Inside Out by about 30 years! Airport sitcoms aren't discussed anymore, either, like Wings, or The Crew. Anyone remember those? Thanks for the video!

Another 90's show that should b watched is Animorphs. Based on the book series, 5 high school kids r given the ability to transform into animals, and telepathiclly talk to each other when in beast form, even if the others aren't. To stop an alien invasion. If that show gets rebooted, it better b epic and good. With an opening like in the 90's and 2000's. I miss those, now its just the title appearing, unless the series r that old and still going (ex. NCIS and Law & Order).
