From Zelda Twilight Princess, Mario, and a few surprises you may find on this list. Again to be clear, this is just my person list of what I think are the Top 10 Wii games. @jt SS is just awful imo, with the super linearity even for a Zelda game, the overworld is hands down the worst in the series, there’s really nothing to explore which is disappointing seeing as how it was in the sky. The dungeons were really good though, and I enjoyed ghirahim, but fighting the imprisoned that many times?? They tried dragging out the game and it doesn’t help the game. Plus a lot of the bosses have like no thought behind it they’re so boring (looking at you tentalus and bilocyte)

I'm a fan of the developers of Muramasa. Odin Sphere, Dragons Crown, 13 sentinels. They're all great. I believe they also did Grim Grimoire on the ps2 as well

Brawl was my first SSB game and was incredibly addictive and satisfying. I loved unlocking everything. The story mode you could compare to Metroid or Kirby games.

I'm glad Strikers charges made it so high up in your list Jirard, it's my personal number 1, I am the one that every world cup asks for a 3rd entry in the franchise, or at this point I'd be fine with a "deluxe" remaster of the wii game for Switch, maybe add Rosalina and Funky Kong as new captains or something to keep it fresh, but I need the best sports franchise back on the switch

Odd, as you mentioned, Nintendo only ever seems to want to do more Tennis; and even though Aces was fun, it lacked charm of older tennis titles, like the item match mode from 64 and power tennis.

Its very weird, my brother and I played 100's of hours of the original Strikers, but I never got into Strikers Charged. I think the choice to have the likelihood of scoring hinge on how charged the ball was killed my interest in the game. The original we got so good and dekeing eachother out and doing quick small plays to score, but in charged if you didn't pass the ball 4 or 5 times, and recover a blocked shot you didn't score.

Brawl* 3. *The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword* 2. *Okami* 1. *No More Heroes* Honestly, the Wii has so many awesome games I could easily make this into a top 30 without skipping a beat.

The one thing charged did miss though, was the built-in tournament mode for multiplayer like they did on the Gamecube version. I never got to try it out as a lack of friends, but just that it was in the game and that you could let the game organise a tournament was super cool

Brawl was without a doubt the game I put the most time into on the Wii. Just fucking around against bots or playing against my brother were some of the best memories I have of it. It was so damn good at the time. And rewatching the Subspace cutscenes on KZbin makes me cry.

@@jhans22 It takes less time to complete than BotW if you have a checklist. The main problem is how many things are easily missed if you do something as simple as choose the wrong dialogue option. Source, I've done it both on 3DS and Switch.

@Kumatora best Girl sure. My point was that Jirard is a completionist so big jRPG's arent his thing. Top 10's are subjective to quite a few things. In terms of overall games, yeah Xenoblade is great. In terms of fun/factor experiences, Wii Sports/Resort is great. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ really is subjective based on the 'top 10 criteria'

I bought it at launch. Once you get over the competent motion-controlled combat, the game is such a snooze-fest. You spend most of it walking through linear corridors and smashing boxes between battles.

It's not quite my favorite game on the system, but I might go so far as saying it's the best example of motion controls.

My top 10 (mostly Mario games because I wasn't really into many other games when I had a Wii) 10. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Brawl was the first Smash Game I played and it was a good introduction, but it's so slow and has many bad mechanics that make it kinda hard to go back to and play when I could just play Ultimate.) 9. New Super Mario Bros Wii (I played this game with my siblings as a young child and we had no sense of team coordination but it was still great fun none the less, playing it alone is kinda a bummer though.) 8. Mario Kart Wii (The first video game I ever played and will always hold a special place in my heart, also the competitive community around this game is pretty cool and interesting.) extremely 6. Super Mario Galaxy (I don't like it quite as much as it's sequel but it's still a really great game.) 5. Wii Sports Resort (continues on the groundwork that Wii Sports laid and makes an even greater collection of fun sports based minigames that are just really fun to play.) 4. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (great integration of the wolf gameplay making it not feel all that forced, great dark design choices, has some of the best items in the whole series, and Midna is just the best.) 3. Donkey Kong Country Returns (to put it simply, it's the best 2D platformer I've ever played.) 2. Xenoblade Chronicles (I haven't even finished this game yet and I'm so invested in the story, the characters, and the world, it is a masterful JRPG, also I just love Riki way too much.) 1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (literally my favorite game of all time, it takes all that the first game did right and expands on it to make a gaming experience that I will always remember and cherish.)

Small correction: The Gamecube version of Twilight Princess came out slightly later than the Wii version. The only region where they released simultaneously was in Japan, which was ~2 weeks after the North American Wii release.

Off the top of my head, this is my list. 10. Little King's Story (Great little hidden gem. Cool fusion of Pikmin with a Final Fantasy style job system. Super creative bosses.) 9. Both Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 (Great games but they're not my favorite. I feel they have a lot of untapped potential and they started the trend of the more limited Course Clear 3D Mario which I've never been crazy into compared to Sandbox 3D Mario) 8. Trauma Center: Second Opinion 7. Twilight Princess 6. Sonic Colors (Yeah I know I'm putting this above Galaxy even though it's objectively worse but...eh. I just like it more? It might be the soundtrack for me.) 5. Warioware Smooth Moves (Best use of the Wii's motion controls hands down. Shame they never made a direct sequel on the console.) 4. Okami (I don't love it as much as I used to but it came out at a perfect time for me. Love the art and getting a taste of Japanese mythology.) 3. Donkey Kong Country Returns 2. Punch-Out Wii 1. Xenoblade Chronicles (One of the Best JRPGs out there)

@@edmg7 yeah, it does have a good layout in both the original and Switch remake to show a collectapedia though. My only issue with that is there are certain areas that become locked after you finish them that you can't go back to and a second playthrough to try to find any missing items is way too much work if one doesn't get it the first time. I would say the underground ether mine area would be one example.

Super hidden gem: Spectrobes Origins It takes the Disney Spectrobes series and makes it into an amazing 3d world adventure where you actually fight alongside your spectrobes and can even match them in damage throughout most of the game. It also has a surprising amount of accessibility and builds on the story of the other games in the series by both placing a beginning and ending to the story as a whole. Now would I recommend it as your first Spectrobes game no in fact you should play the games in release order, but is it the best Spectrobes game, Yes absolutely. The only minor issues are getting the cards necessary to fully complete the spectrobes list and sometimes multiplayer mode has some minor responsiveness issues. Overall though I'd say 9.5/10.

I played that about 4 years ago and it was great. I love how you can save between turns so that if a character dies you dont have to restart the whole chapter. The Laguz races were fun to play as.

@@yoshi_auditore431 Separating the Tellius games just doesn't even make sense in my brain. More than any other games in the series, those two are so intimately linked for me that I couldn't really talk about one without the other. Probably because it was built from the ground up to be a two part game, whereas 3, 5, and 7 seem like tacked on additions to existing stories. They're not my favorite gameplay-wise, but the story and characters are top-notch in my book.

I loved fire emblem radiant dawn. It could have been released on any system since the motion controls were not used at all but it was released on wii and therefore has to be my favorite wii game.

My favorite game on the Wii is definitely Super Mario Galaxy, two of my favorite games to come back to are on there as well: Epic Mickey and Rabbids Go Home. Those both feel pretty underrated (especially Rabbids Go Home) but are fantastic experiences.

I hated the game when it came out on the wii, but I've fallen in love with the switch port. The amazing music, art, and story were originally marred by how damn bad the game looked in 480P on my hdtv. Plus, the game is 60-70 hours just to beat, now imagine completing all the bs fetch quests...

@@chadcondit6360 480p it is what it is, but the quests were not that bad, I mean the switch version dumbe it down so much you didn't even have to read the dialogue to do the quests. I loved both versions and prefer the original score and interface. Switch allows for the original score, but not the original interface.

"Tripping sucks" When this game came out, magazines like ONM here in the UK were still running (official nintendo magazine). In one of the interviews with Sakurai that we read, he mentioned that he added in tripping cause he thought it would add a comedic aspect to the game and thus make the game more 'fun'. Naturally, we came to dub the tripping as 'Sakurai fun' and every time we tripped over midway through a fight, we'd sit there shouting "Sakuraiiii!!!" Good times. Good times

Really pleased to see TvC on the list. When I purchased it at launch, I found out that in my whole city, mine was the only preorder copy across all of GameStop. I guess with a console that is soo nostalgic to everyone there will be a lot of comments like mine but Where is Wii Sports resort I swear going up and down the volcano in the saber fight was the most satisfying gamimg event of my childhood or flying around the island on a plane and smashing my hand on the shelf while doing a layup directly in the basket. And some very honorable mentions for me would be Mario and Sonic at the winter olympiques the level design on the snowboard levels is just majestic and obviously Mario Cart cause mario carts

Smash Brawl was the biggest hype I've ever seen before a game release. I could feel Sakurai's life force being poured into the game. The website revealed a character every week or so. No surprise that Smash 4 and Smash Ultimate are basically expansions on it.
