Haven't played Crew yet, but Mike's wrong about it on the count that Crew's easy to produce, translate and probably to obtain rights for. Some of People's choice games on the list you find surprising are also the result of that. For example, Splendor. You're talking about Splendor killers, but my local printing company just acquired the rights for it, printed it out easily, and made it available everywhere for cheap. I never saw a Vindication box in real life, while only yesterday I saw Splendor in an office supply store! And here's the rest of their offer and you make the connection: Dixit, 7 Wonders, Codenames, Carcassone, Kingdomino. So there's a far greater chance for people to be familiar with these, and vote for them in the end. In a couple years, I honestly expect that in a few years the majority of People's choice will be cardboard-only.

You even reached to Georgia (not usa). Only there are too few people who is familiar with board games except for Monopoly. I bought Terraforming Mars Chinese copy with terrible quality board and resource cubes, and i totally fell into board games. I have only few tho, bought from ebay. Because in Georgia there is only one shop selling board games and they are extremely expensive, like Scythe costs almost 500gel (150$). it's 25% of my monthly payment, and I'm an orthopedic surgeon. I'm looking for to buy used one on ebay. So i always listen to you, what is good and what is bad. I have Ultra tiny epic galaxies and kingdoms, Terraformimg mars, Sprawlopolis, Ticket To Ride Europe and fallout (because I'm fan of the video game series of Fallout), but didn't liked it much. My wife likes board games a bit but not much, prefers cross stitching lol. So i mostly lean to games that also have solo mode. i wish i had at least 10% of your library. ☺️ Anyway, thank you guys, you are the best!!!

Mike is crushing it on his list. And I totally agree that Nemesis is not that difficult to teach. It may be challenging to *learn*, and takes a lot of care (and keeping the rule book handy) to *run* the game. But teaching is remarkably smooth because you can teach or gradually as the players slowly make their way through the ship. You enter this room and it’s on fire, so let me tell you about how fire works. This other room has a mechanical failure, now I can introduce that rule. You can slowly introduce each aspect I’d the game in this manner, including the aliens themselves (combat, infection, etc). I’ve had great success teaching the game in this progressive way and it only contributes to the thematic immersion. The rules slowly reveal themselves as you explore the ship.

Tidal Blades is great. The modular boards are perfect. It would suck as a single board. Tom is wrong. You go Mike!

It is over produced but I don't care. It's a super good game that as an added bonus looks marvelous. Just sounds like a plus to me

So this really isn't a list of the "Best Games of All-Time", these are lists of the games you've played the most in the last year. That's it. Otherwise, games like Ticket to Ride, King of Tokyo, Agricola, and others that have stood up for a number of years would be much higher on most lists. I will be interested to see how many games in the top 20 came out in the last couple years.

I mean...maybe? Unless you play some of these older games relatively frequently its pretty difficult to tell if it is subjectivly better than a newer game or if newer mechanics have just surpassed older ones...which does happen a lot. New ideas move the whole hobby forward. It's also all taste. I agree that Ticket To Ride is popular but I'm not sure if it would hit my top 100 either. Certainly not top 50. Ditto King of Tokyo. Agricola might but its all to taste. My favorite game is The Resistance and plenty would say that game is firmly in old and busted territory.

It is THEIR favorite games of all time. If they don't play a game anymore, why would it be on their PERSONAL lists? Oh, and King of Tokyo? Really? I love that game, but it's not a top game. And Agricola is garbage. One of the most overrated games of all time, even before numerous games completely replaced it.
