I'm happy you still have the Vstrom. I often look at other bikes but I can't bear to part with mine. Great fantasy list by the way.
@BlueMarbleRider14 сағат бұрын
Yes the Vstrom is just too practical to sell. Gives me a freedom the other bikes don't - no fussing, no precious polishing, just riding. Cheers.

If new bikes were the only option then in my garage there would be a new Aprilia V4S Tuono, a Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, a Kawasaki H2R, and a Yamaha R1M track bike. Done.

I've been shopping for a bike for a couple of months now, in anticipation of a lessening of the precipitation cycle here in the PNW in several months. Price is an object for me, but so is the aesthetic and performance, so when I found that I could order a new Mandello in red with gold wheels for 10,000 usd and have it delivered I almost hit the buy button. But then I came to the realization that there are no dealers within tolerable driving (or riding) distance and so I let that dream go. For now.

It's pretty bomb proof from what I've been reading. MG are supposed to be expanding their dealer and parts network...so you never know. A new one opened up near me a year or so ago.

I have a moto guzzi v7 stone 850cc which I bought in 2022 from Via Moto, then in Sheffield UK.The ride home across the Derbyshire high peaks was a fantastic experience on this bike. Totally different to the journey there on my triumph street triple, which I part exchanged for the guzzi. It reminded me of how it was back in the 1970s...felt like I was in the environment...the wind, the road, the landscape. I was close to tears which I arrived home. I couldn't believe the sheer joy of moto guzzi. I also have a 2009 griso. I can see why you choose 2 moto guzzis. Proper bikes for sure.

Love that comment. It encapsulates for me the idea of riding. I am very envious - I would love to ride a v7 across the peak district. One day. Cheers.

@BlueMarbleRider I really appreciate that you've taken the time to reply. We all have busy lives. I do enjoy your great videos and the joy of biking that you communicate so well 🙂

Great video. Interesting choices. What helmet are you wearing in this video?

Wow, two Guzzis on the list. I agree, I own a V7 Special and a V100 Mandello. My V7 is a 750 and my Mandello is the Navale though but close enough.

You are a lucky rider, sir.

Ok that was so much fun. Especially when you said tune in next week lol awesome. Well in my old age I’ve actually owned 48 bikes. So 12 in the garage is a bit silly for me. However I’d be happy with 2. BMW R1300RT. Triumph T100. Since I ride a Speed 900 and I can’t have what I already have, then the T100 please. lol. Merry Christmas.

Sounds like a great Christmas gift to yourself! Cheers

Great selection - including arguments. As I recently got retired, it made me happy to see even my CFMOTO 450MT on the list. Thx 4 this Christmas gift :-) On my Christmas Bike list would be a Goldwing Tour. This powerful comfy engineering masterpiece is really a dreambike. I am happy, that I owned a GL1800 for 4 years.
@BlueMarbleRider14 сағат бұрын
Agree, the Goldwing is a bike I *think* I could get to like...I, like a lot of others, have prejudices...but I'm pretty sure If I swung a leg over one, I would be swayed immediately.

I'm not sure that there are 12 new bikes that I would want to own, but I'm definitely in agreement with your picks of the RE Classic 350 as well as the MV Superveloce. Both are beautiful in different and unique ways. I'd add the new-for-2025 BMW RnineT in the retro R90S orange livery to my list, even though the new RnineT appeals less than did the old. I can somewhat forgive the generic restyle of the bike when it's painted in that orange. Still have 9 left to pick, do I? I suppose I should grab a copy of the New Bike Buyer's Guide and see what's actually on offer!

Sounds like you've got a good start on your list, good luck with the rest! Enjoy your search - that's half the fun...Buy that lottery ticket :-)

Kawa W800 is my No. 1.

That's actually one that slipped by me - I used to own a w650 and loved it...Cheers.

Spend a little time watching what Iconic Motorbikes has going through their shop if you need to fatten up the old garage collection. They've sold 6 or 7 Honda NR750s and 4 or 5 Honda RC213Vs !
@BlueMarbleRider14 сағат бұрын
Thanks, I'll check them out. I enjoy watching Pete's Classic Cycles from your neck of the woods. Cheers.

Love your top three especially, but I'd put the Brough in slot one I'm afraid. That thing is gorgeous! French you say--wow how did that happen?
@BlueMarbleRider14 сағат бұрын
Thanks, Sludgy. That Brough is gorgeous, and I do have to be a little controversial...deep, deep down, I'm with you on the Brough...

Ha. But if you did not already own a V Strom, you would mark it as # 1. Me too.

I too found the list by the MF a bit underwhelming. As you waxed poetically about your 12 bikes of Christmas I find I can get behind a few of choices. YES to the RE Classic 350 in that livery. The local BMW/Indian/Triumph/Ducati/RE super store had that exact bike on the showroom floor a few months ago and it stopped me dead in my tracks. The chrome spoke to me from decades past and the bronze was so rich. Fortunately it sold within a week preventing me from damaging my own bank account. But I do want a small displacement commuter so you never know. And I agree the new 450 BMW looks great but I was a bit surprised they opted for the 19" over a 21" front wheel as I assumed they were challenging the RE Himalayan. Oh, and I loved the top down view of the bikini fairing.
@BlueMarbleRider14 сағат бұрын
Yes, hoping they do 21incher on the 450 - it would really be the bees knees I think. I see that RE classic in my future; the 650 classic doesn't really do it for me, although I've yet to see one in the flesh. Cheers.
@bradmiller999317 сағат бұрын
Okay so now lets be real: if you could only have one motorcycle for Christmas, and one motorcycle only in your garage, what would it be ?
@BlueMarbleRider11 сағат бұрын
Can't get the Griso anymore. Have done so much to my Zed that the thought of redoing it all would be tiresome. So the V100 Mandello S.

Too damn old to need, or want another Crotch Rocket, but if there were any GUZZI dealers in my area, or worth a damn to expect service from, that V7 in Blue with the White accents has me dreaming since the first time I saw one being Tested.

If used motorcycles were an option, then hang onto your wallets ! Another Z900RS, Honda RC213V, RC30, RC45 (to go along with my RC51 I already own) RC51 track bike, GPZ900R (Top Gun), GPZ750 Turbo,Kawasaki Z1R, ZX750R, ZX400RR, ZX10, ZX11D, ZX636 track bike, and an H2R. Yamaha RZ500, RG500, NSR400R, ‘86 GSX-R750. Ducati Monster S2R, Desmosedici, and 851. Oops, I'm a bit over the limit !
