When I was a child my father used to tell me about this man as well as about the Dutch team of '74. So Cruyff was a legendary name in our household even though in a small Bornean city we were living, almost nobody else knew about him. My father died seven years ago, and if there is an afterlife, I am sure that my father and Cruyff would watch and enjoy together the great Ajax team now we have from above. Regards from an Indonesian Ajax fan (currently living in Japan).

I am just fed up with all those antics players come up with after scoring a goal that by no means will guarantee to be decisive. When you score a winning goal or a late equalizer then it's a different story but for instance a 1-0 in the first half may mean nothing in the end. It's like being 10 minutes into a horror movie and saying: " thank God they're safe."

Thank you, sir! As i was 13 years old i was one of the very lucky ones to watch him play at Ajax, 1981, many games. Every evening before the game i could hardly sleep, because i was too excited. Me and my friend were always 45 minutes before the game started inside the stadium. Then we watched the warming up as well. Cruijff warmed up the Ajax-goalkeeper by placing the ball 4, 5 times in such a matter, Schrijvers (keeper) could (with a lot of effort) just touch it. Schrijvers later told that in an interview. Or (warming up) when they were 3 against 3, he made his teammates look like old men..and he was already 34! All the best for you and Glasgow Celtic from Amsterdam.

He invented the curve ball pretty much. "Buitenkantje rechts" we call it in Holland. You hit the ball with the side of your foot. Fool the opponent. And that was just one of his talents.
