How is the Griffey Jr. '89 Upper Deck a PSA 10? It is off-center. I have had the 80s cards in better condition get 6s & 7s. These grading companies are so inconsistent.

Buy the template the companies use to measure off center and youll get a rough idea of how the grade will be

I'll say it till the day I die, if you think you have a PSA 10, send it to BGS and TRY to get that Pristine.. especially if you can get a Black Label, those are WAY more valuable than PSA 10s!!!

I have Rickey Hendersen's rookie Topps card and also his second year card from when I was a kid. I had all my rookie cards in cases from when I was young and they are in mint condition. I looked it up and OMG I couldn't believe what these are going for!!! I am now trying to figure out how to get it officially graded and then figure out how to sell them. I also have a few different complete comic books series like Kamandi, Moon Knight, etc. that I couldn't believe the value of either. These also have been in protective sleeves since I was young and never touched since. Are there any sites out there to sell to collectors, or is something like ebay a good choice? Not sure where to start here?

@@MrJsinagement , naa I don't need to get rid of them at all, I am ok with $$ but just thought it might be a high point in value possibly??? I am still planning on getting all of my valuable ones "officially" graded though for sure so at least they are officially protected and shown the official grades of the cards. I think that is the smart thing to do at this point maybe?? Not sure how long these official grades are good for though?

I’m sort of in the same boat. I’ve been slowly sending a few out to get graded now and then. I figured I have to make the time otherwise what you get is vultures who offer pennies on the dollar. Seriously, if your collection is worth $20,000, the offers from buyers might be $1200 if your lucky

Yes , those something for nothing people are always out there when you sell whole collections and it's better to sell a few at a time to get the best offers or have something really rare . I have heard of people who will sell on consignment I guess that might be a option if they didn't charge too much and they were in your area.

I have all these cards plus more like Barry bonds , bo Jackson , Nolan Ryan , an I don’t have the Mickey mantle card unfortunately but none are graded my question is should I just pay the money to get them graded ? Is it really worth it?

Yes and no. You might have them in mint condition but if they come back with a grade lower than a 9 the value does decrease

Well I'm glad you asked. There's a bunch of cards floating around from that era 86 Donruss Cansecos, 85 Mark McGwire rc 89 Fleer FF Billy Ripken were all over everywhere. Myself being a grader for SGC and I have graded 13,500 cards so far. Back in the early 90's I saw 100s of counterfeit cards that look Nearly spot on. And the Upper Deck Ken Griffey rc were made and designed to foil anyone's attempts. The only cards that I haven't seen any fakes were the Sportflics and I have graded cards from 1888- now I'm not saying that all sets I have graded had fakes but they could be faked easily.

Security at the factory would be the last line of defense to deter theft of newly printed cards. Nowadays I believe there are systems in place to prevent staff from even thinking about it. They'd get busted immediately

So it just dawned on me with the Don mattingly.. are we just talking about the cards that sold for the highest amount of money? Like was there a PSA 10 that sold for less and we're just documenting the highest sales or is that the only sale?

These are the highest sales. The Mattingly was the only sale. But something like the Upper Deck Griffey would have a bunch each week. So they would range from $1650 up to $1800 or more.

Not a sticker on the list. I'm originally a baseball card collector. So I guess that explains why I don't really like stickers .... I upset some ma'am the other day by saying I'm not a fan of stickers.. I guess "they" must have a bunch of my little pony stickers. .. I hope "they" finds that sticker show "they" are looking for
