Love to see the football on this channel. I don’t think anyone does much content on vintage football. Hard to believe football is so cheap compared to baseball given the game has been more popular than baseball for decades.
@chrisolivo6591
@chrisolivo6591 Жыл бұрын
Football fans and Baseball fans are different when it comes to the history of their respective games. Most NFL fans and the media don’t even recognize anything before the SuperBowl era (hence this video doesn’t mention NFL Champion QB’s before SuperBowl 1). NFL fans don’t care about records as they are willing to sacrifice previous records to todays game. You can’t even compare passing records with Unitas, Bradshaw, or Staubach to today’s QB who throws for 4,000+ yards every year. Baseball is built on history so collectors gravitate to Ruth, Cobb, Young, Mantle, Aaron, Mays, etc. Otto Graham went to 10 straight NFL championships before the SuperBowl era and I guarantee you most younger fans never even heard of him.
@Cards-In-The-Closet
@Cards-In-The-Closet Жыл бұрын
@@chrisolivo6591 Ehh..I disagree. Football fans do care about records. The game has changed more than baseball has, so it's harder to compare player accomplishments in different decades. Baseball has had different eras making it hard to compare apples to apples with different mounds, balls ballpark sizes etc. I think if baseball ever changed the name of the World Series, they would eventually have the same problem football has now with pre-Super Bowl championships. I do think the NFL could do a better job marketing the history of the game, and not sell the Super Bowl so hard, but it pays the bills.
@reallygraycards7139

I see both sides of this coin. No doubt football is more popular than baseball and I follow both. I played football but never did play baseball but there is something to be said for “as American as baseball and apple pie…”. From a collecting standpoint it is easy to flip the card and compare. Rules in baseball move like molasses (hence why younger fans may be more disengaged) so 120 years of players can be considered when looking at best, better, famous, etc. on the other side of the coin, soccer is the most popular sport in the world and soccer lags both football and baseball in values (save for a few outliers: Madonna, Pele and Messi)

Eli Manning won 2 superbowls. He probably gets in on numbers, but he wasn't "great". He should be with Jim Plunkett. I've seen the SB going back to #4.

@@greekperspective2076 no.....definitely not. But I'm also not the average collector. I highly doubt you are either. I started collecting in 1984 (thats when I actually remember starting haha) and I definitely have the type of knowledge of the "elites" of the KZbin community. But as with most of these main players on youtube, I have strong suits and weak points. Im pretty lost in basketball if it is after about 1988. I know alot about football, but the past couple of years of college and pro football has begun to kill my love for it. And I know and love baseball inside and out. All eras. I've always used collecting as a way of supplementing my income, rather than relying on it. Its possible, but not without the ability to lose very badly at times. Which I cannot afford, in the current state of life I live hahahaha.

@@greekperspective2076 i feel like Baseball card collector investor dealer is actually very knowledgeable and doesn't really ever try and bait people in to buying anything. I have seen MANY CHANNELS though that are like you're saying. Some of them are so blatantly bad and MILLIONS of people listen. But I actually think Chris Sewall is pretty good about not influencing. I do disagree with some of his endorsers, but I totally understand his need/desire to have endorsers help turn a profit. Some of these guys made channels expecting to get 1,000 subscribers and ended up with 35,000. But some of them (no names but I never really liked the name Geoff 😂) are terrible, chased viewers and influenced terribly and hurt people badly. And there are many, many more.

Eli Manning isn't a HOFer, nor should he be considering his regular-season stats

Eli Manning 57000 yards - 10th all time. 366 TDs 10th all time. 10th in all time completions. 13th in all-time regular season QB victories. Add in the 2 SB victories and Eli is a no-brainer HOF.

Great video like always. I can’t stand the diva Brady but I invest in his cards because his fan boys/girls will buy it later on and make me rich. Patrick Mahomes is my modern day GOAT. I’ve never seen a talent like him. He’s gonna win more Super Bowls and pass the Diva. As far as my team the Los Angeles Rams, I’m grateful Matthew Stafford is our quarterback and hopefully he gets another ring or two. As a collector, I cannot buy a rookie card with another team logo when they won it for my city. I’m still looking for the right Matthew Stafford auto in a Rams uniform🤙🏽

I know either packercards87 or Cheddar Bob pulled one within the past year. I cant remember if it was a random pack opening or a boom box. I love opening high end, but I can't afford to more than a few boxes of Bowman Baseball I buy every year lol. So I have to watch guys open that awesome stuff! I feel like after this season now would be a great time to find that Stafford auto, cuz silly people would devalue an Injured, down year. I remember you sending in many submissions on regular rollers and such. Memorable name. I always wondered which LT lol. I'll tag you in a comment if I find one somewhere that seems "not ridiculous" 😂

@@livinwithlt dude I just had to look a minute ago. Look on ebay at 2022 Black smokeshow auto of Stafford. It is literally one of the nicest autos I've ever seen on any card, in any sport, since they started putting em in packs in 1990 upper deck. It is a Rams auto. Its one of the coolest cards I've ever seen imo. But it'll prob go for 500 cuz the auto is SO PERFECT. Wow!
