Hellfire and Be prepared are the best villian songs. Savages, My Lullaby and In the dark of the night are in my top 5. I love villian songs!
@frankjuggaloheathen10356 ай бұрын
I recently watched a video where someone analyzed "Hellfire" in depth, and pointed out the details which make it truly an outlier among villain songs. Not just for the musical nature, but for how the villain is visually portrayed... Notice how with most villain songs the antagonist is in their element; they boast of their dastardly deeds or their evil plans, surrounded by fans or minions gazing up at them in awe, and by the end of the song, they seem to rise to be on top of the world at their most powerful moment, emphasized by low camera angles. With "Hellfire," it is quite different. While still maintaining the epicness of any other villain song, things are topsy-turvy: rather than singing about his power, Frollo sings of his lust for Esmeralda, which is a WEAKNESS which he can't even fathom that he has. He does find himself surrounded, but not by admiring fans; hooded figures appear around him, judging him as he attempts to deflect accountability for his feelings, reminding him that his feelings are entirely his to blame. In the final moments, the shadows of those figures reappear, towering above him as he literally seems to shrink before them. And with the final note, Frollo falls to his knees before the fire, as the camera pulls away from a high angle, as if through the eyes of God. His lust overtaking him, he collapses in the shape of an inverted crucifix. "Hellfire" TERRIFIED me as a child, but now I appreciate the terror I felt back then. Definitely the greatest Disney villain song of all time!!!!!!
@eternasapphiremoon816 ай бұрын
Don't forget the chorals in Latin! Even before Frollo starts singing, the score has the petition to the Virgin Mary, Michael, and the other saints and angels during the evening services. And during the song, the background chorus echoes 'Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa' (My fault, my most grievous fault), as well as ending with the 'Kyrie Eleson' (God have mercy). It's as if while he's in denial over his hidden desires and wants, those he's supposed to serve and respect in the Church pretty much fling back that yes, it IS Frollo's fault...not just for those feelings, but for EVERYTHING...

I honestly think "Biggering" - the song that existed before How Bad Can I Be? - and Snuff Out the Light - from Kingdom of the Sun, which was reworked into The Emperor's New Groove - deserve a spot here even though they never made it into their respective movies. Snuff out the Light is probably in the Top 5 Disney villain songs, right there with Hellfire, Poor Unfortunate Souls and Be Prepared, and Biggering is just... superior to How Bad Can I Be in practically every way.

On The Road -Even though it’s not technically a villain song but it is catchy and stylish. Movie itself might be underrated but it’s fun to watch How Can I Refuse? -Famous in Barbie history. This villain is voiced by perfection by Martin Short. It’s a classic villain song and the Best Barbie Villain Ever This Is The Thanks I Get?! -King Magnifico is the representation of Disney100. May not be a huge hit to Wish fans but to me, he is. The song is stylish and at the end, scary Prince Ali (Reprise) -Being a reprise, it’s not a full song but Jafar makes it his own with a evil flair and it shows Crazy Train -DreamWorks may not be well known for Villain Songs but remaining one in the franchise of Trolls, sign us up. She’s not just a Queen, she’s a Queen of rock n roll I Wanna Be Like You -Not really a villain through out the movie but the song is a catchy disney song since the 1960’s. It wasn’t until in 2016 that Christopher Walken’s version of King Louie is fast, big and does a roar The Headless Horseman -Not considered a Disney Classic but does have a heck of a villain that will send you shivers to your spine Snow Miser & Heat Miser Song -They’re both brothers with their own powers. Kids may not see them as villains but they know it’s a classic Christmas movie with catchy songs and it’s a charm Pretty Bird -Stylish and surprisingly good by Jemaine Clement. Even being Blue Sky’s first villain song Holding Out For A Hero -For all villains, they see the color red and Fairy Godmother wears it while singing her own version of this song by Bonnie Tyler. Not villainous but a great scene Big and Loud -The movie is hugely considered underrated but not for Darla Dimple. The first part is a showstopper and the second part is dark and she nails it No More Mr. Nice Guy -In the title, he’s never been a nice guy but he does have power through the song of wicked and naughty. He’s a great villain since the 1990’s and sung by Jack Polance (my mom met him) Savages -The whole song is powerful and brutally amazing in the colors of the sky How Bad Can I Be? -We didn’t think the Once-Ler would be villainous since the original version by Dr. Seuss. In 2012, Illumination gave it a new style and it pulled off with style, biggering and a great chorus The World’s Greatest Criminal Mind -First off, the Walt Disney Animation studio scored big with Vincent Price (whom is well known with horror movies). This villain has class, style and a whole lot of evil in London as the rat he is Love Is An Open Door -Even though it’s a duet, Prince Hans hardly says anything about dark actions, threats and evil schemes but it does foreshadow his character. Singing with Anna has her be fooled by the prince that he thinks he is but we all know he is the worst Disney Villain of all time Toxic Love -Sung by the fun villain actor of all time, Tim Curry. He’s at his core singing this haunting, jazzy song. At first, he’s a Smokey hunk showing off his vocal talent until we see him as he truly is and it’s dark Oogie Boogie’s Song -Being a classic Disney Halloween movie by Tim Burton, it’s a whole lot of fun but not for Santa Claus. The villain is green and made out of bugs. Although his song is a Halloween bop that you can’t get out of your head Shiny -Jemaine Clement strikes again for his second villain song in a Disney movie. Being a big crab, he’s full of shiny stuff and got a lot of views since 2016. You will feel a trance when he turns on the dark Cruella de Vil -There’s a reason why devil is in her name and she wants Dalmatian fur as her new coat. She didn’t care that they were just born. Ever since her big debut in 1961, she’s a popular Disney Villain of all time. The song speaks for itself in perfection by Roger You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch -At first, we didn’t think of this until now. Even though it’s a classic Christmas song, it’s a spotlight for The Grinch. Being sneaky, having a evil smile, nasty and green My Lullaby -Zira is the spouse of Scar and she has similar desires. Taking the throne. Despite the title, it’s a dark lullaby and she shows in red and black with a evil style just like her deceased husband Playing With The Big Boys -Being DreamWorks 1st villain song even though sung by talented comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short. They went all out for this song. It’s not just haunting but it’s amazing Gaston -In 1991, it’s no wonder that the movie is number one in the box office worldwide. He might have a thing for Belle but he loves himself. He might be stubborn but that’s what makes him a great villain In the Dark of the Night -Even considered underrated but it makes One of the Best Non Disney Songs of All Time. He’s in the dark, has a choir of bugs, an item of green demons and Jim Cummings does amazing from start to finish. Not to mention, Rasputin is Don Bluth’s Best Villain Mother Knows Best -In 2010, Tangled showed that fairytales are not done and became a huge hit especially for Gothel, who’s not the best mom. She says she knows best but she doesn’t. She only lies to Rapunzel to keep her locked up as her youth potion. To top it off, in the 2017 series, she’s a terrible mother to her own daughter Cassandra Friends On The Other Side -He has a thing for voodoo and it costs him. Especially with demons and shadows. The song itself is an absolute banger of dark magic in entertainment Poor Unfortunate Souls -She’s the first to be considered as Making a Deal with the Devil or in this case, a sea witch. She has attitude and potions. She steals Ariel’s voice, transforms herself into a human to put Eric in a trance, nearly choked Scuttle to death and almost killed Ariel at the bottom of the ocean. The cherry on top is visiting her while seeing people as scary creatures attached to her home and that’s creepy. We’re glad that they changed the scene in the 2023 movie Be Prepared -It’s considered as one of the best Disney Villain songs of all time and for good reason; to be king. In 1994, it took over the box office worldwide and it’s no wonder that Scar has been number one multiple times. He’s prepared to go all out in wicked deeds having his hyenas work with him HellFire -Considered as an underrated disney movie in The Disney Renaissance but it’s something to be seen. The villain is beyond dangerous and has a thing for the seven deadly sins. Number one is lust, lust for Esmeralda. The song is full of hellish imagery in orange and red from the fire he nearly touches and it’s a flame in his name

Friends On The Other Side is my favorite Disney villain song, and something I particularly love about it is how Facilier presents Naveen with as easy way out of his predicament of being flat broke, which would be to simply use his natural charm and handsomeness marry into money so he doesn’t have to work hard, which entirely goes against Tiana’s exact morals; if you want it, you have to work for it. And speaking of our leading lady, he tried this tactic with her right before the reprise, offering to make her dream a reality (a dream which was incomplete because Naveen was missing from it) if she simply handed over the hayacall. And something I can respect is how he knew she wouldn’t be as easy to manipulate as Naveen, and knew exactly what strings to pull to get through to her. But in the end, it wasn’t enough. And to top it all off, in the end, his reliance on his dark magic and connections to the other side inevitably came back to bite him. Throughout the film, he uses his voodoo as a crutch an awful lot, and as soon as he lost that, he completely fell apart.

If this list included animated villain songs from tv shows as well, we would have great changes on the list... being why I hope we get a Top 30 list for that as well. I mean, there are so many to pick on, as well. Just MLP alone has many great villain songs, like "This Day Aria", "A Better Way to Be Bad" and "Villain". However, we can't also forget "Other Friends" from Steven Universe, "Ready as I'll Ever Be" and "Nothing Left to Lose" from the Tangled series, "Hell Is Forever" from Hazbin Hotel... And that is just me scratching the surface.

Ichabod realizing The Headless Horsemen is real is an “Oh Shit” moment. On another note the opening segment of “Love is an Open Door” is quite reveling with Hans motioning to Arendale saying how he’s been searching his whole life to find his own place. Interesting fact about “snake charmers”: the weaving motions and flutes aren’t really used to “charm” the venomous serpents but to give them a harder target to strike.
