The closest his team got was in 2002 when Collingwood lost the final by less than two goals and Nathan was even rewarded the medal for being the best player on that day. I think it is less about who deserved to win a championship and more about the fact that in the NFL QB's greatness is judged by how many rings they do or do not have yet that is judging a single player by an entire team's effort. So a lot of QBs have been left out of the conversation because they did not have the team to get to the game and win or on the flip side, some QBs who are perhaps not as great do have rings on their fingers because they were on a championship team. The Super Bowl is a team award and rings are given to the players on the team for winning the game not just the QB; it's not a valid way to judge QB play.
