I think a lot of 'American' sounding names are quite unpopular in the UK, as people see them as a little cheap or pretentious? I'm really not a fan of any name that ends in "son", they're just so common, so I really dislike Jaxon. Where I'm from we use the word "jax" as slang for the toilet eg. "I'm just going to run to the jax before we go" so that's all I can think of! Felix I really like but understand why lots of people don't. Names are just so personal, what one person hates another person loves. I'd never tell a friend or family member if I didn't like their child's name, because they obviously love it. We all have different taste and that's a good thing.

I actually changed my baby’s name. He was my third child and my other two children are named, Sebastian and Scarlett. I named my last son, Phoenix and idk if it were the hormones, but I thought it was strong and unique. I had baby name regret so badly. I had hoped it would pass. However, I only felt worse about it and we all referred to him as “baby.” I spoke with his pediatrician about changing his name and she assured me that it wasn’t that big of deal and wouldn’t affect his development. Long story short, I changed it to Seth, and am so glad I did. My other children were so accepting.

I love Scarlett too as it’s my daughters name. I had Scarlett chosen in the beginning and then almost didn’t end up naming her that and was about to choose an Irish name, Saoirse, which my husband disliked. I went to my Dad’s grave while pregnant with her and found a flower label sticking out of the ground above his tombstone that red “Scarlet.” My husband, was like, “that’s it, that’s a sign from your Dad!” I kept the flower label and named her Scarlett...or maybe, my Dad named her?! ❤️

Both of my kids have uncommon names. With my son’s name most people paused for a second and then announced they loved it, and it seemed sincere. With my daughter’s name we mostly got asked where we got it from and why did we choose it. It was obvious it wasn’t liked. I did run our names by my mum but that was it. I couldn’t have chosen a name she hated. Both kids totally suit their names and so far they have never complained about them. I’ve never liked my name so I’m glad they both seem to like theirs.

I think another reason why Scarlett isn't liked as much as it has the word Scar in it and it associates with scarlet fever. Crimson would be a cute alternative for those that aren't fond of Scarlett. I'm with that on some names such as Harper, Trudy, or Piper as it has the words Harp and Rude or it reminds me of Pipe up for some reason. With Olivia and Olive I feel that it gives off the same feeling as Evelina and Evelyn (which I love both of those names). Olivia and Evelina give a little added flair to the name where Evelyn and Olive are more of a plain, but simple and sweet kind of names.

My son's name is Alfie and we did have the conversation about whether it would transition well for an adult. We decided that if he would prefer to be called Al or Alf or go by his middle name when he's older then that would be fine. When I do tell people his name we have nothing but positive comments (although you never know what people say behind your back)

If you ever do another video to help views find their baby name pairings I could use some help!! My husband’s family has an old family tradition we are trying to bring back! When my husbands ancestors first came to the States they were the O’Boyles but the original 3 brothers faced discrimination because they were Irish. So the brothers decided they would drop the “O” and become a “Boyle” but that they would give their children middle names that would start with an O so that they all could still be so-and-so “O. Boyle” We plan to have a larger family (4+) and I’m really struggling! So far we have Benjamin Owen, and John Oliver. Outside of Olivia, I struggle to find first and O middle names that flow and sound gorgeous with our last name “Boyle”. We tend to like old English or Victorian names, and i LOVE the name Olympia and Odessa. I am just stumped! Any advise or suggestions is so wonderfully welcomed! I am an new follower but I’m so excited to be part of this community!

My husband and I are expecting out first baby boy in March and can not find one single name we both like lol!
