@@anhurtorrez yeah, but first of it kept the spirit of the books, and second of all plenty of great films deviate from there source material. Honestly as a whole trilogy lord of the rings is a masterpiece, but two towers is easily the best of the trilogy at least in my opinion.

The only thing I liked better with the movies then the books is how they showed the different parties doing there thing around the same time, where they jumped back and forth between them, while in the Book they showed one party group to a certain point, then switched it to another to a certain point and the book ends.

@@anhurtorrez well agree to disagree, I felt the fact that the elves came to helms deep and that there were less people at the battle really solidified the idea of fear and hope of the two towers. Plus I feel gollums character as well as the others are given more depth than anything else. Plus I think samwise's monologue is one of the best monologues ever written.

I've never considered that a sequel since those films were always made clearly as 3 parts to a whole. Each movie isn't really its own story to where a new foundation needs to be built for the sequel, they're basically one big movie.

@@nel9357 are you serious? It's widely known that all 3 movies are part of Robert Rodriguez' "Mexico Trilogy". As in El Mariachi, then Desperado and concluding with Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Banderas took over the role from Carlos Gallardo. The later did make a cameo in Desperado, but not as the same character. He was also a co-producer on all the Mariachi movies. Rodriguez also re-shot the finale scene from Mariachi for the flashback scene in Desperado. Come on dude... The Mexico Trilogy is a staple from Rodriguez and it's been well know for being a full arc story of the same character and no reboots involved.

When it comes to #1, Arnold's Terminator is the only character to appear in both the American Film Institute's lists of the top 50 movie heroes and villains. Sigourney Weaver also made the hero list for "Aliens". You aldo forgot to mention she even got an Oscar nomination for best actress for her performance in that, a rare achievement for sci-fi movies.

People say that the first Gremlins hasn't aged well nor still holds up today. I strongly disagree. It does hold up. Not because it's a classic, but because of its aspects and quality that still are pretty well done. Also, I've never seen the sequel, but I really wanted to for a long time now. I was meaning to watch it at some point but I keep forgetting lol.

FYI: Apes riding horses when first very seen in the 1968 planet of the apes. For instance When the apes flush the astronauts out of the cornfield in the beginning three are in horseback even with closeups of them. In fact I think the first shot of that ground breaking ape makeup is of a mounted rider, and the riding establishes the alternate earth nature of the movie.

Well , no I disagree . The best comic book to movie adaptations are probably Infinity war and The dark knight trilogy . Hitchcock's the greatest horror film director of all time and as for fantasy it's Peter Jackson for LOTR obviously.(This is just my opinion)

2 of my favorite all time 2nd installments: Clerks 2- Kevin Smith stepped up his game twelve years after the original chapter of his View Askewniverse. Now Dante and Randall work at a burger joint and Jay and Silent Bob are right outside. Similar to the first in some ways, he pumped up the stakes with the potential for Dante leaving Jersey for Florida with his fiancé when he finds out he's having a baby with another, a coworker. Jay And Silent Bob Reboot- It's a sequel, it's a reboot, it's all these and more. Kevin Smith (again) takes a concept (do the exact same film again) and builds upon it to make an almost completely different film. He grows the titular Jay in ways that he never did in the original,Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back. Plus, it may be the best film of Smith's directing AMD writing career. Who knew that a heart attack (Kevin had one in 2018) could bring out the absolute best into an artist. Terminator vs T2? I say apples and oranges. The first is a romantic love story at its heart. The sequel is the action fueled runaway train.
