I had a hard day today and it brightened me up when I thought about starting my physical media collection, and I mentioned your channel and how much I have learned from you. New to your channel today. I’m always hesitant to subscribe but in some of your other videos I appreciated your honesty about certain films that were not up to par. Hard to find these days… honesty without being bought via in video ads to essentially sell that product with a “raving review”.
@AVAPopCulture10 күн бұрын
Thanks, I always try to be honest about my opinions! That combined with my background as a filmmaker and editor is probably why I will never get anything sent for a free review LOL...but even if I did, free movies arent worth not giving my honest thoughts, so I always will! I appreciate you deciding to hang around!

I just watched that return of the living Dead 4K this morning. Excellent! One of my favorite rewatches as a teenager. It's definitely going to be an interesting year for ROTLD because we're getting the holiday sequel and seems like the cast is also putting out their own sequel called Trash's Revenge. I know they are crowdsourcing it. Very interested to see what happens out of these movies.

Many fine titles in there! ”- Looking good Billy-Ray! - Feeling good Lewis!” Who can not love John Landis? I mean, the man gave us almost just awesome films! Blues Brothers, An American Werewolf In London, innocent Blood, Into The Night (JL as a stressed terrorist is just hilarious!), Trading Places, Schlock, Kentucky Fried Movie, Amazon Women On The Moon (partially), Coming To America… a master in my opinion! A list of weirdest comedy movies maybe? I vote in Kentucky Fried Movie, Happy Hour (John De Bello), Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes (John De Bello again), Top Secret (with Val Kilmer), The Naked Gun (Leslie Nielsen), Wrongfully Accused (Leslie Nielsen in crazy The Fugitive spoof). Many more out there but just a few tips. Lol Cheers!

Would you believe that up until I was able to get American Pie, the uncut version in 4K, it was the first time I saw where he jumps on the pie. Haha. You can thank the Australian and NZ censorship of this movie in our region. Apparently, that was just too much for our sensitive eyes.

This is a fanboy list. There is some good stuff on here. But he really thinks cinefiles and seasoned collectors are going to overlook some of the most influential films in history and films with cinematography that actually merit a 4K release for many of these over his past two lists? No. Of course, he's entitled to his opinion. But there are others out there who offer, I think, more eclectic and edifying lists.
@AVAPopCulture15 күн бұрын
LOL fanboy? Ive literally made films for over 20 years, worked with actors who are in some of these movies, taught film, and you can find my resume online at IMDB...how about yours? This isnt a list for just arrogant people like you, it is for the masses...I do different kinds of lists all the time, you want to take shots and insult based off one list? if you're looking for the arrogant fanboy, Id suggest you start by looking in the mirror
@AVAPopCulture15 күн бұрын
imagine being so arrogant, that you think you know better about what makes a good movie or "cinema" than anyone else and you base it upon NOTHING but YOUR own tastes and the fact that a movie may be older or critically acclaimed and then insult others for putting out a list with the most mass appeal lol... pretty much just summed up the ideology of every know-it-all pretentious first year film student hahaha

Love your content bro but please add chapters to the timeline if you can. That would make it great help for your subscribers.
@AVAPopCulture16 күн бұрын
thanks so much man! I am not on the chapters train yet...it does require a good bit more time BUT it also encourages people to skip over the discussion...at that point, the video loses a lot of the originally and what makes my takes and channel unique from the countless others that do lists...and from a watchtime standpoint with the algorithm, my channel isnt big enough to survive the big dip in watch time that chapters cause either!...but mainly for me I am here for the discussion, vibes, nostalgia and connection and I am always afraid that will be lost if everyone skips to each point on the list and then nothing separates me from anyone else!

Then I hate when modern filmmakers try to ignore the fact that there was already sequels to this ckassic films.
