My personal Top 3 so far 1. The Ninja Saviours 2. Fight N Rage 3. Streets of Rage 4 Sengoku 3 by SNK is a really nice retro one also. Great video. Some of these on my radar now.

Loved the two previous Sengoku chapters, but Sengoku 3 for both chara/enemy design as well as the level one it was just a let down imho.

The only one that matters is Spine “This is Gun Fu”. Cinematic Action Beat ‘Em Up..? Obviously a better concept than any of the others listed here. That and Redline is a baddie, so that helps too (whatever is required to put an end to Woke trash).

Double Dragon is a must buy, Blades and Battles has solid mechanics, I liked Karate Punk moveset, Interested on Power Rangers, Rushing Beat X seems solid and I think is the other one I will buy, Pizza kid has amazing art, but it looks kind of woke, so not sure about that one, same problem with mayhem brawler 2, Big Helmet Heroes seems like fun too. The one for the Corgi is the cringiest game by far. And acts of blood looks cool but it seems to be like Sifu gameplay wise and I have problems with that, toxic crusaders look like fun too and Gun Fu has mirror edge vibes, I loved that game, and after checking the gameplay it looks like a stiffier but more rich wanted dead, so I will keep an eye on it.

It seriously pisses me off that games arent recognized on their own merit anymore. A game is always "like" something else, as if the whole effort to make or play a game is wasted because you might as well have played the other one.

Hahaha ya I know what you mean. Some of these look surprisingly decent tho. The issue I have is most of the devs don’t understand the genre enough to not only replicate the depth of the classics, let alone move the genre forward. I need depth in my beat em ups.

Please stop with the AI voice.you got a mouth...use it....were in an all new wave of beat em up goodness. If it wasnt for the Nintendo Switch i swear things would be sad on the game front these days. Nintendo really made third party developers come out of the wood work with the easily ready Switch and its ever expanding e-shop. They make it so easy to get your project out there. All sorts of new teams and talents are bringing the thunder! I prefer pixel art over 4/8k resolution realism ANYDAY!

They're trying to appeal to the younger crowd, the same crowd that watches those ugly cartoons drawn in the Cal-Arts style. Compare the beauty of the Disney Renaissance in the 90s to the ugliness they release now. It's pitiful how far art has fallen, ain't it???

It doesn't look very good even at the calarts level, because even in such a simplified style you can make something attractive. Although it is better to choose pixel art. For some reason, projects in pixel art look more attractive than 3D ones.But I agree with the strange choice and art design. It's like a first project of a novice developer. There are great examples of classic games. But no one has ever made anything close. to the golden axe 3, at least something similar came out this is the sacred citadel. Only Off Rage 4 was similar to the classics, bringing something new and making a gorgeous visual. It's very sad for the genre, it has room for development, but something is always wrong. Even in the part of River City saga three kingdom about the East, the style of the characters is classic, the environment is in 3D, but there is a better example of River City Girl or River City Underground.It's sad what's happening to the genre.

I agree, none of these seem interesting to me except Acts of Blood and Kiborg. A 2005 Urban Reign is still far superior than any fighting game I ever saw after it.

​@@GatsuKS act of bloo, spine - More like a third-person action game, yes it is a beat'em up, but not in the usual form. These games will be great. But where exactly is that beat'em up in 2D perspective, with forks in the passage, techniques. The last really high-quality similar project in the genre is street of rage 4. From the third person I can only remember Sifu.

@@endrgar I'll be happy with any game that delivers deep combat and nice animations, regardless of 2D or 3D. We haven't had many great brawlers in years except Sifu and probably Absolver(didn't play it).
