There’s so many more like Hostel, Drag Me To Hell, Vacancy, 30 Days of Night, 28 Days Later, Dead Silence, The Grudge, The Strangers, Final Destination, The Last House on the Left, The Ruins, Jeepers Creepers, The Collector, Orphan, etc. 2000s was a great era for horror.

Omg I’m so happy you mentioned Jennifer’s body and I feel the same way! I’ve loved Jennifer’s body for so long and the movie itself and Megan Fox were heavily criticized when it came out but now they’re finally being appreciated. I don’t understand why it took so long but at least they’re getting the recognition and attention they deserve. The movie was definitely ahead of its time. I also think Hollywood has changed for the better in regard to treatment of women in the industry and not treating actresses as just a piece of meat. This was done to Megan Fox in the deliberate marketing for the movie to a young male audience (which isn’t even the bulk of her fan base and marketing was definitely a huge problem in the movie’s premiere and lead to its flop back then). Regardless of issues in the past, its a movie I can rewatch over and over again and I don’t feel that way for many movies.

Great review. Thanks. I believe every decade has a great selection of films. In my humble opinion horror movies are some manifestation of what is happening in the world so each decade has merit. - 80's fear of a nuclear war, 70's the crime rate was incredibly high (a lot of slasher movies started at this time) and so on. Really really enjoying your channel.

It was one of the first horrors I've watched (I was 9) and it messed me up so much! I was also so scared of the scary scenes and couldn't watch them without having my eyes closed. I also ADORE Jennifer's Body, 13 Ghosts, Ginger Snaps!! They are all so AMAZING! I grew up watching them just like you did :D Thanks for a great video!!!

Every era offers something different. I personally love the 80s! I feel like horror and sci fi was at its best! The most original and creative era in my opinion. Look at how many remakes came back in the 2000s. However....what i love about the 2000s is its brutality. Some of my favorites martyrs, i stand alone, irreversible and so on. Came frkm this era. If your a real horror you really love every era!

Absolutely love this video! I love your content and although I have to admit I sometimes don't agree with your choices, I still deeply appreciate the content you cover. I think what some folks need to remember that we all have different preferences and views. Different films will have a different impact on people because of their experiences, we all grow up differently and so I think that that also impacts us on how we might see these movies, but that's what is good and important about us being film lovers, our opinions will and should vary. I also would like to say that I know what you do as a female reviewer is tough and for that I am so thankful, so thank you for representing us ladies who love horror. Keep up the amazing work!

Yeah, for whatever reason during the 80's, they had a fad where they had obviously 20+ year olds playing high school aged kids and it never worked. Tho most 80's horror films would have that one or two mandatory nude/topless scene and if they actually looked like minors then that would be a bit disturbing...

I hated "Inside. " Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying it's not a good horror movie. It was just so disturbing to me toward the end that I couldn't bring myself to like it, and I never want to see it again. So it definitely did its job 😂 With pregnancy, while it's supposed to be a happy time, there are a lot of things to be concerned about; add to that the trauma Sarah was already dealing with in the beginning. And what ultimately ends up happening is NOT something a mother-to-be should also have to worry about. Lol. Sorry, that movie messed me up! 🤣

Thank you for mentioning The Loved Ones, it's one of my all time faves. And I do feel like not enough people have seen it, which is sad. The movie manages to combine grounded, somewhat realistic violence with campy over-the-top performance from the villains. It's hilarious to watch at times (when you are not busy writhing in disgust, that is).

I’m a huge horror fan and I have to definitely agree with you on the early 2000s being the best. I do think that I do love it so much just because it was when I really discovered horror in high school. I am surprised nobody’s mentioning The Orphanage (Spain, 2007) and Let the Right One In (Sweden, 2008)! Amazing films! The visuals are stunning and the plots are intriguing and frightening. The performances are remarkable... I love this new era of horror, I am so surprised and excited, but now that I am thinking, the 2000’s have brilliant horror movies and I admit it. My favorite horror movies from the 2000’s are: The Orphanage (Spain, 2007) The Ring (USA, 2002) Let the Right One In (Sweden, 2008) Thirst (South Korea, 2009) The Devil’s Backbone (Spain, 2001) The Village (USA, 2004) A Tale of Two Sisters (South Korea, 2003) Orphan (USA, 2009) High Tension (France, 2003) Jennifer’s Body (USA, 2009) Martyrs (France, 2008) Trick r’ Treat (USA, 2007) REC (Spain, 2007) REC 2 (Spain, 2009)
