i LOVE house of wax! Paris hilton did decent in it and she SOLD t’f outta it like i mean she sold shirts or something like that saying “ come watch me die”. It’s a good horror film to me in my opinion like sorority row it’s a entertaining film and enjoyable.
@serenacelestine4 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely one of my guilty pleasures too. tbh I’d say it’s a genuinely good horror film in the same sense that I Know What You Did Last Summer is a genuinely good horror film. I think films like that tend to get a bad rap for no other reason than they were released in an era when horror was typically a little cheesy; but slashers have always had an element of camp to them.

I also loooove this movie and watch it every fall/Halloween season and remember going to the theaters to see it when it came out. I’d consider it a guilty pleasure too but Idgaf and I don’t feel guilty 😂😂

The main issue with Quarantine (other than it being made just because American can't either read subs or have decent dubbing like the rest of us) is that the studio tried to pass it off as original, even keeping the original from US distribution until way after their version (which I found severely lacking compared to the original, especially in the final twist) was released. Also, what was with their idea of putting the final shot on most promotional material? I wasn't a fan of Dawn, TCM and Last House remakes either, as they felt more commercial and 'sanitized', if that makes sense. I liked Amityville a bit better than the original (even if the house is completely WRONG), The Crazies was awesome, and I have yet to see Child's Play and The Invisible Man. The Friday 'remake' (which feels more like a new sequel) was pretty cool.

-My issue with the Child's Play remake was the design of the doll, I just thought he looked super goofy. I think the really bright empty eyes on the original made it just uncanny enough for me to find some kind of unease in its design, but I prefer torn up Chucky anyway lmao. -oh yeah the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre is really good, I just wish that the house had that same creepy vibe it did in the original. Like the bones everywhere, the creepy dinner scene? Like everything about the house was so much more unsettling. That was the only thing I missed. I just thought the house in the original was so fucking creepy.

They were VERY similar. Sorority Row: Again it was okay. Amusing. Gore was good. The Crazies: Visually appealing. Great acting. House of Wax: Is one of my "guilty pleasure" movies. I LOVED it. Especially Chad M. Murray and Paris dying. Also like that the "attractive" brother was the POS for once lol Dawn of the Dead: one of my favorite zombie movies... Probably after 30 Days of Night and tied with 28 Days... The Invisible Man: Haven't seen. But it got good reviews so I would most likely like it. Last House: I hate rape movies. Hate them. I Spit... And this... Megan is Missing... All of them. But the acting was well done. But def not my kind of movie.

Some remakes I did not see in your videos nor did I see in the comments: Black Christmas(2006), the thing(1982) invasion of the body snatchers(1993), night of the living dead(1990), my bloody valentine(2009)

I wasn't much of a fan of the child's play remake. I was surprised when I heard this back then I think after the movie was release, Brad wasn't happy of them remaking this which is why he didn't participate doing Chucky's voice.

Totally agree with Amityville Horror remake & TCM I wasn't into the original franchise didn't start watching TCM til the remake. But not the Chucky one. The original is a classic. Facts on Quarantine I don't get the hate its literally the same movie as REC just in American. I love Quarantine. Sorority Row was intersting to say the least i prefer the 2006 Black Christmas instead. I like House of Wax the Vincent Prince version is better but the remake is a guilty pleasure. I like The Crazies & Dawn of the Dead. Loved the Invisible Man. Last House on the Left one of my faves

The original Texas chain saw not that violent our graphic for the time it came out from the few clips I have seen in it. Since it came out in 1977 it got a pg rating at the time. Pg13 did not come out till middle 1985 red dawn the original was the first pg13 rated film which maybe would had gotten maybe and r rating today .the remake of red dawn from several years ago got a pg13 rating.

I didn't like the remake of Child's Play. I loved Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. I just think the original was better. But that's just my opinion

its kind of scary how similar our opinions and experiences are.... i also watched the amityville horror remake an unhealthy amount of times in high school AND it is my go-to rec for when people looking for good genuine well-done horror! also early 2000's is my favorite era of movies/media!

House of Wax wasn't that bad. The Paris Hilton death scène was cool. 👍

Unpopular opinion: the Nightmare of Elm Street remake wasn’t that bad. Not great but everything after Dream Master exists until New Nightmare. Jackie Earle Haley did a DAMN good job with what he had to work with. And the micro naps were a cool real thing to explore with the Dream Demon.

A bit random, but i just thought of a norwegian horror fanchise called "Fritt villt". I don't know if you can find it with english subtitles tho, hopefully you can. Just thought that maybe you would like them. The first one is from 2006 and it follows five friends travelling to a mountain to go snowboarding and they end up in an abandoned hotel. The first one was a big hit here in Norway. Haven't seen it in yeeeears, so I don't remember much about it

Spiral was pretty good. Not great in my opinion, but still worth the watch (especially for the political commentary, which was VERY well done).

It seem you had missed out lots from Some Asian Horror Remakes that Most American Makes. Though I can understand Most Remakes like that Sucked and only that stands out from what I remember was The Ring first movie.

I enjoyed the House of Wax and through Paris Hilton did a pretty good job. I don’t understand why people are so negative about it.... overall I agree with your opinions but they are just that, opinions.... I also don’t think some people get that everyone is entitled to their choices?

Someone else who likes the remake of Last House on the Left as much as I do. Monica Potter was such a badass in that movie. Her character did more damage than her husband's.

I just want to say this is not ment to criticize or be rude it's more of explaining why I dont think the childs play remake is the best and informing about the behind the scenes stuff. Personally I think Childs Play(2019) is a great movie but it isnt a great remake for a few reasons. One of the main ones was the behind the scenes stuff was not great. I'm not talking about the actors I'm talking about the people still making childs play movies and the upcoming tv show. Doing a remake makes people think that the orginal series is over and the people who made the orginal childs play who werent working on the remake were not ok at all with this remake being made. I know I'm not explaining it well but the video I watched that talked about this came out a while ago Overall I think they should have just made it their own movie not related to childs play. I also know they did it to get more money but I still dont think that excuses their actions. No hate to any of the actors though! I think they did really good!
