The Log Lady's final call to Hawk. It had me in tears. Such a sad story for a great actress that Lynch most tastefully was able to pay homage to before she died.

Nothing in twin peaks will be as memorable to me as the final scenes. Nothing will be as haunting and terrifying as "what year is this?" And Laura screaming. Love the new season so much. It was perfect. But that cherry pie scene, pure genius.
@ianross97385 жыл бұрын
NO DOUBT man. "What year is this?" is arguably the most haunting, DEVASTATING and yet also hugely satisfying final scenes of a revered TV show I've ever seen. One one hand I was thinking.. "Oh no... OH NO." and on the other, "Well, of course. PERFECT." It's not a happy ending whatsoever, and I sure as hell wasn't expecting one, even after ep 17. Absolutely perfect, nobody wins. Except maybe Ed & Norma *snifff*

This is so damn difficult, but, for me personally; 1) Cooper wakes up. (can't really be anything else, can it?) 2) The Woodsman does radio 3) "We Live Inside a Dream' 4) Mike does the chant 5) Starting Positions 6) Bad Coop meets Jeffries 7) 'He's dead' 8) HELLOOOOO 9) The Muave Zone 10) Sarah removes her face

Two moments that would have to be in my Top 10 would be the glass box/Mother appearance (seriously, that scene terrified me) and Hawk's final call from Margaret. That was one of the most touching scenes ever committed to video and the most heartfelt tribute to Coulson that Lynch could give. You could feel the love coming through it.

The Log Lady's last scene and Sonny Jim's gym set extravaganza would be my humble additions.

I like your list! Three of my favorite moments not included are (1) Rebekah Del Rio singing "No Stars" in the context of that episode, which was full of violence and darkness, (2) the end of the arm-wrestling scene where Ray materializes in the Black Lodge and the ring is picked up by a disembodied hand, and (3) the moment where Cooper loses Laura in the woods and "The World Spins" fades in. "I'm so sorry."

Well done! Your commentary is spot-on, and it's hard to argue with your selections. Just wanted to add that the one scene I found myself playing over and over was from the end of episode four, when Cole and Albert dismiss Tammy to discuss the situation. Bathed in blue light and uncertainty, their conversation capsulizes what viewers are thinking, and even manages to inject a little humor into the proceedings. Can't wait to re-watch the whole series on blu-ray.

I want to take a moment and appreciate the background score during (moment #7 here, Cooper's Farewell to Janey-E and Sonny Jim) the casino goodbye sequence. Not sure if this particular piece of music was used in the earlier seasons, but for this emotional moment it was completely and amazingly heartbreaking stuff, just perfection. I cannot imagine this scene without that achingly profound music. Once again, music becomes something extraordinary in the worlds of David Lynch. And I, a grown man, am once again reduced to a misty-eyed fanboy ... by a work of fiction, lol. By the way, this countdown was a load of fun to watch. Nice job. What a daunting task it must've been to choose these moments! Thanks. :)

For me it was a toss up between the cherry pie in the box/Mitchum brothers scene and the “I am the FBI”scene. Both were amazing. I’m glad someone likes the Mitchum brothers as much as I do. The scene where Janey E chews out the two guys in the park for lending at usurious rates was amazing too. Also the scene where tulpa Diane says her goodbyes was great. I need to watch again.

@shoddyworkmanship49346 жыл бұрын
Everything with Sarah Palmer really intrigued me; the face removing scene was my #1. That part, and all of episode 8 is what immediately springs to mind when I think of Twin Peaks: The Return. Did you see the interview of the Palmers Lynch did for that Missing Pieces DVD set? Grace Zabriskie acts just as creepy in that interview as she does in The Return. I have to commend Grace Zabriskie, because I thought she was boring in the first series, and now she makes me sit on the edge of my seat when she's on screen. I really wish Ray Wise was featured more though! Great list and video Mr. KZbinr!

HEEEELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Wow Lynch Wow. Great video as usual. Brilliant to reminisce. I have so many great memories and there are so many fantastic moments, but one of my favourite moments was the car ride with Carrie and Richard at the end of season. I remember feeling so much tension and nervousness.

I agree that there were just so many great scenes, it's hard to rank them. I mean, I can say that any scene with either Gordon Cole or Dougie Jones was at the top of my list...but everything was brilliant, in so many different ways. Thanks so much for your insightful and joyful commentary on Twin Peaks.
@veladarney6 жыл бұрын
Well, since the "I am the FBI" scene just made me cheer and cry at the same time all over again I'd have to name that one as my favourite scene I guess? ;) Second-favourite would be Ed and Norma. Was digging for tissues there, too. Also, the entire episode 8. Genius.

Bad Coop's conversation with the Jefferies kettle and Judy breaking out of the glass booth and killing the two hipsters were way up on my list. Both were vintage Lynch in making odd, mundane things incredibly creepy. Both were also very important to the overall universe of the story. Gordon Cole's conversation with Bad Coop at the prison was another great one, very unsettling.

As much as I love the original series, to me this is far and beyond the pinnacle of Twin Peaks. I feel like the scenes collected here are only a fraction of so many amazing moments. 100% job my friend. Fantastic countdown. As far as what i always think about first from season3 is when the old couple in the car in the 40's are showing such intense fear from the bum that kept asking "gotta light?" Never seen anything remotely like that scene before and i cant stop laughing as the husband in the driver's seat just keeps looking more and more frightened by the guy instead of taking off sooner. Lol those facial expressions of his fear were so genuine. Thank God we got to experience that season together for all of us that have seen everything from the pilot episode to "Fire Walk With Me" and all these years later...we were given this wonderful gift from Lynch and Frost. I hope we get a season 4...but after all these years...i couldn't be more satisfied. I'll take that back im sure if there is a 4th. Great countdown sir..and id like to dedicate my comment to Harry Dean Stanton
