Just did the #3, but didn't do it as prescribed cause I don't listen so well. Went up to ten then down to 1 with the body weight movements, but instead of only doing 1 run each time, I did the number I was on for the body weight movements. It got real tough from 7 to 10 then 10 to 6...Might try it your way next time. Went to the hardware store and picked up some hurricane sandbags for a couple of bucks. I think mine weighed around 80#...Thanks for posting!

I want to see a heavier sandbag workout. I've got kettlbells which I've been using to workout at home, but I just got a sandag to supplement heavier training since I don't have barbell. Mainly plan to do bear hug squats and sandbag to shoulder in a 3-8 rep range. If I keep going heavy enough is this enough to replace a barbell?
@blankblank18134 жыл бұрын
Hey Casper! Don't replace your barbells. Sandbags, kettlebells and barbells all work together very well. Adjust depending on your goals and where you are in any given cycle. My biggest hurdle incorporating bags and bells was mental. I wasted a lot of training time not doing bags and bells because I thought I was missing progress with the bars. Exact opposite happens. Now I take the summer season off from barbells and focus exclusively on bags and kettlebells. It takes a week or so to reacclimate in the fall but the supporting muscles really kick in, especially on the big compound lifts where the real gains are made. It's hard to make the transition and not grab the bar for a whole season but it is SO worth it.

@gxvault41664 жыл бұрын
Use it all, I have a home gym a pretty simple one a squat rack with a pull up bar, dumbbells a Olympic barbell (never used a normal) 8,16 and 20 kgs kettlebell a 10 kg vest and a 15 kg powerbag and of course a parallels for dips and I use it all. The result? I workout everyday 1st thing when I wake up, there’s never a boring workout mix it all and train smart 💪🏻
@sevenflashowls4 жыл бұрын
You might try thinking about what your goals are and then how you can accomplish them with the tools you have or can get. No one tool, including a barbell is the answer. Many people just use kettlebells or body weight and can accomplish their goals. You can checkout Strongfiist for kettlebell and body weight programs. You can check out www.dvrt.com for a comprehensive system using sandbags and kettlebells. The key is there are other ways to increase difficulty without adding load. Good luck and enjoy the variety!

I'm looking to buy a sandbag for home training, but very unsure of what weight i should get. I am looking at the sandbag primarily for lower body training, and sandbag to shoulder etc. For reference, by best numbers are 185 kg squat, 125 kg bench and 205 kg deadlift. I already have a pair of adjustable dumbbells and looking to buy some resistance bands. What weight would you recommend?, I was thinking around 80 kg, but mb that's to heavy?
