Love the video. Thumbs up, but have to provide another point of view. Modern engines are all about the tune. There is more power there than anywhere else. So I would propose this alternative path to better acceleration... 1) Marty Tune on SCT from Mos' Speed shop. Tell him you are going to run a CIA, cat back exhaust and change your rear gearing. 2) Cold Air intake. Be sure it is true cold air. (outside of underhood or at least where the intake filter is shielded from under hood radiant heat and has a path to draw air from outside) Remember air is 14X more important than fuel and each 7 degree increase in intake temp reduces output by 1 hp. 3) Do the exhaust exactly as you say or spend the bucks for the Borla or Magniflow panther kits. Get rid of the 2nd set of cats and be sure to have an h or x pipe. 4) Change the rear gears and while you are in there add some type of limited slip diff so you do not have a one tire fire. Bonus Mod - Underdrive pulleys. These are low cost and raise the entire TQ/HP curve. No tune required for this one.
@bstfordchannel9233 жыл бұрын
1005 correct on tune. yeah that the part that is always left out.. people want to hear what THEY can do... The tuner does the other thing.. Thats why thereis disconnect of hotrodding cause of it. sad deal but you can even rev your motor underneath your hood

Quick question, 2008 CVPI’s have acceleration times of around 6.6 seconds 0 to 60 and 2011 CVPI’s have acceleration times around 7.5 seconds 0 to 60, due to a less aggressive tune from the factory with the 2011’s. So that being said, if I tuned a 2008 and it gets a 6 second 0-60 from the tune, would that mean that my 2011 would be at 6 flat as well or would the 2011 be slower even if tuned because of the original tune being sloppy? I’ll have to disagree on the full exhaust system not being worth the hassle..the factory exhaust system is 2inches with a very restrictive manifold that barely reaches 1 3/4 inches at its widest (in the best manifold)..now you take the 1 3/4 primaries with headers feeding into 2 1/2 inches unrestricted straight back exhaust..the power you pick up will NOT disappoint you
@bstfordchannel9235 жыл бұрын
how much hp to the wheels a crown vic makes? the cost of a full exhaust is a lot.. headers cost a lot for these cars.. i figure if you just take the center section the exhaust and leave mufflers you will get a cheap increase.. 2.5 max even a 2 inch will do 2.5 exhaust is good for 200-250 hp vic do not need 3 inch exhaust in stock form I may explain deeper in a video. I agree with you, but i mentioned this in a cost saving in hp mods

BST Ford Channel I’ve stated before that mustang parts can me modified to fit panther cars with ease and the exhaust is no exception..you can go many different ways including long tube headers but I chose a set of shorty headers and an off road x pipe as I do not need emissions in my state..all in I have about $300 in my exhaust because I already had a cat back from a previous project..as it is one of my many on going projects I have yet to get her on the rollers and have a proper tuning but as far as my butt dyno is concerned I am very happy with the end result in power performance and sound..I too am on an extreme budget so every dollar has to count so trust me I’d never suggest something I couldn’t do myself..there are a lot of possibilities out there do not limit yourself to only a few ya dig??

@devenreal4 жыл бұрын
Your supposed to change the exhaust studs anyway. Its a heated part that gets stressed everyday. Quality parts like Arp studs will take care of this. Also the proper headers will effect horsepower tremendously. Its a v8 buddy this is how airflow works. If you can make the air come out faster and easier with clean resistant free bends you will make HP this coupled with a proper intake and throttle body will guarantee it. It sounds like those aftermarket parts were cheap and incorrect for that engine. But don't misinform the public.
