I am shocked that this is the second video i clicked on trying to fix my standing desk. It usually takes at least 20 tries before i find any useful solution. Thank you.

Excellent video ! I was thinking to buy a height adjustable table and I read in reviews that wobble or instability makes these tables useless. I came across your video and now I am more informed about making the right purchase to avoid instability. Thanks ! Also you've put up animations and zoomed into tiny details like star washer etc. which really should the effort you did for this video. Appreciate it kudos !

4 half moon nuts fell off our large extendable dining table and it started to wobble. I have no idea where those half moon nuts were attached to the table.

Great overview about desk wobble! I'm a tall user, and need a desk at around 48" for standing. And at least in the EU it seems there are no longer any options with crossbars, for some reason. Are there any DIY mods you could recommend that might help with stability? I mean, short of drilling into the steel legs to install a crossbar, which would certainly voy any warranties!

I have a standing desk. If I try to lift the front right corner, it is extremely heavy, but the rear right corner lifts easily. Whereas the left front corner lifts easily, but the rear left corner is extremely heavy. Any idea why that might be? Thanks.

Im confused at the cross bar solution. I can literally see it still wobbling in the video, even with the support. I want zero wobble. Not just less wobble. Otherwise, what's the point.

Haven't come across a single standing desk in the UK that features cross support, looks it doesn't really cause that much of a problem.

At what height we should keep that cross support? For Ex: My table's height is 2.5 feet. Should we put vertical legs in the center of base support? or it's fine if we put little bit behind so that we have more space for person's legs to move around?

So where can I find a desk that pass all the criterias?
@RightAngleProducts3 жыл бұрын
First, search for a desk that includes a cross support. That will be one of the easiest ways to find a more stable desk. It will be a bit harder to know which desks use custom-fit column glides. Here's an article that shows the top 5 most stable standing desks: www.btod.com/blog/most-stable-standing-desks/ That will give you a jump start. All of the desks made by RightAngle pass all 3 criteria (raproducts.com). If you're looking at other brands, your best bet will be to research reviews and look for the comments that specifically talk about base configuration and column stability. Looking at any WobbleMeter stability testing will also be helpful.

Why don't you talk about the up-to-down wobble? For instance, when we type, the monitor shakes... This wobble is more enhanced for the c-type 2-leg model since we do not have good support just in front of us.

Hi Camille. I recently started looking into sit stand desk. Unfortunately we do not have good quality, nor affordable sit stand desk in South Africa. (non that I like at least) As a signage developer my creative brain started running away with me. So I am looking into what it entails to make my own metal alloy desk (about 1500mm long by 700 wide). This was and absolutely brilliant and well presented review on, what is the biggest problem for these kind of desks, stability. I am 2m or 6 foot 6 so I will need plenty of lift. Do you have any other guides like this that might help understand the inner workings of the columns perhaps, any other important factors to take note of? i.e. Is it better to have two columns on either side than one? Do the columns have to be slightly off center in relation to the desk top? Sizes of the columns and foot bases etc, etc, etc.

also, being 2m tall this will be a challange to build your own. the biggest problem for me was the lack of a stable base configuration as mentioned in the video. I will be adding a cross support to the lower coloumn and let you know if it works. TBH i regret my purchase. This desk cost me around 8k zar and it wobbles and my screen even moves as I type right now at the lowest setting.
