Claymore is more epic medieval for me. Fight are damn crazy and powerful, characters so badass and a lot of epics scenes. Like hellsing, and berserk, thse animes are using horror settings but are more focused on action than a horror story

'Another' is a good horror/mystery/thriller anime. It's mostly mystery with a great horror atmosphere. It's about a kid arriving at his new school, but his classmates act super weird especially around this girl with an eye patch. They all pretend like she doesn't exist and fear for their life whenever someone mentions the the eye patch girl. The series really keeps you guessing.

Not gonna lie, I would have facepalmed if I had a free hand when Shiki was being summarized. Shiki is literally an investigation/suspense anime with a small town being slowly invaded, killed, turned, and cut off from the world around it. Meanwhile, the inhabitants try to survive the threat of being killed off, eaten, or being turned into monsters as they fight back after an increasing number of villagers learn the truth. Also, he said the Fanservice in Highschool of the Dead felt natural...

I prefer bokurano to shadow star but that might be because a good chunk of the violence was cut out of the anime. I wish the narutaru manga got rereleased in English uncensored. Elfen Lied's did and it's pretty horrific.(it even got released by dark horse, the same company thst originally released narutaru's manga).

Ghost hunt is such an underrated show, I think it does a great balancing act with comedy and horror. I also think it has very underrated character development, each character becomes more and more likable and interesting as the show goes on. The best arc by far is the mansion arc, it shows off so much of what makes the show great but also in my opinion is the most scary, “the old man saying I don’t want to die” is just too unsettling and the link to Countess Elizabeth is creative.

The manga is more horror than the anime. I wish it had gotten past the content of volume 2 out of an 11 volume long series. The English release of the anime is missing some ovas as well.

For some reason Horror Animation never scares me. I can be grossed out or saddened by it but never scared. Jump scared maybe but no genuine fear or dread like The Exorcist, I wonder why.

I like how Dorohedoro is counted as horror when it's not scary in the slightest. But if you aren't used to blood then it's scary for you. But it's a great comedy/action/fantasy anime. I recommend it greatly
