I just started fishkeeping last year when my cousin temporarily moved in with us while she was in college. Now that she’s gone I’m trying to keep a schedule with water changes and such. Not doing a great job because I’ve got a lot of hair algae growing. 😩 Do the hillstream loaches eat the algae on the glass of tanks because the Otto cat I have doesn’t seem to like it. Now I want to look into the hillstream loach and the cherry shrimp! I love shrimp. One thing though - other than pea puffers, what other small fish like to eat the pest snails? I have five pea puffers, and I love them, but I don’t think I’m doing it right by them. So I might rehome a few of them and just stick with my bettas and cory cats. Also, any site recommendations for buying a hillstream loach online? I really wish you sold and shipped fish! I loved buying some products from you already. You’re one of my top fishtubers!!

Don't know if you've solved your pest snail issue, but try a couple of Zebra Loaches, they absolutely wiped out my pest snail infested 175 L tank in 2 days flat, and they're a really playful and inquisitive fish, not had any problems with fish aggression towards or from them. Highly recommend them!
@mikaelafox61064 жыл бұрын
Heretic Dude I still have pest snails and the pea puffers. My only problem is I need a fish that stays small. I currently can’t get anything bigger than a 10 gallon tank. I’ve heard yoyo loaches and weather/dojo loaches also love snails. Is that true?
@hereticdude27884 жыл бұрын
@@mikaelafox6106 Dojo Loaches can get pretty big (8+ inches)and Yoyo loaches get to about 6.5-7 inches, but Zebra Loaches stay pretty small (up to 3.5 inches), and they will actively hunt snails of all sizes, but also happy on generic fish food they can get to on the floor of the tank. Honestly can't recommend Zebra Loaches enough, absolutely love mine, real characters and gorgeous patterns.
