I have a 99 Vic Interceptor and I love it. Of course I bought it with 116k on the odometer and now I’m doing all the 100k maintenance on it because as we all know, that’s when the police like to send them to the auction, without doing all that maintenance. On top of it all, my left cat went out, my AC went out and all my windows stopped working except for one. But I still love my interceptor because they are durable and reliable and will keep on going even if the world ends 😂 Also when I used to drive for yellow cab in Biloxi MS, I had a Crown Vic taxi that had well over 653k miles on it and it still ran like a champ. You can also live out of these cars like I have done in the past, thanks to its massive trunk and rear bench seat. So in 4 years time, after I get off parole, I am going on a world tour with my 99 Vic to show how these cars are durable and reliable. I hope to learn how to video my progress using KZbin but for now, I’m stuck with posting on other people’s sites such as this. I’m really not that tech inclined so just bare with me fellow Crown Vic Interceptor fans. I greatly appreciate you all for reading this post. Love your videos, I have a 2004 GM-LS Ultimate, people that do not appreciate these cars do not know enough about them. Whats not to love about a car that is essentially an F-150 with a car body on frame, V8, smooth ride, leather seats and all the bells and whistles that you need. 2003-2011 are the best for the rack and pinion and hydro-formed frames, offset wheels 12 inch brakes and more. Keep up the vids as they are enjoyed by this Panther cult following. And thanks for the effort!

1979, Ford adopts the Panther platform for the 1979 LTD. As you say, 1980 introduced the Crown Vic alongside the LTD and LTD Landau versions. My dad, after purchasing Ford Custom Galaxie/Custom 500s for so many years, suddenly moved to an LTD Crown VIC in 1981. I was convinced it was a short term thing from Ford, and soon the LTD Custom 500 would return, but it was a nice handling and very well proportioned car. Well, time passes, parents pass on. NOW, LUV my 2005 Crown Vic with under 60K miles and fully stock, left to me by my parents (well, it was actually mom). The ride is more silky smooth, better than I remember with the 1981 LTD "Crown Vic". The engine is more peppy than I remember any Ford sedan being (only slightly less peppy than the 96 Mazda MX6 V6 manual trans, or the 02 Maxima V6 with Manual, or the 06 Altima V6 with Manual). Probably THE Pinnacle of 3 box sedan design. Some SVO kit offerings a'la Merc Marquis Marauder and "THE SVO Crown Vic" that inspired the Marauder. Thanks for the links.

Mercury marauder grill, bumpers, badges, headlights and rims and done. For the interior marauder seats, speedometer, center console and shifter, trim, door panels, and steering wheel. If your doing a engine swap I recommend a coyote 5.0 motor or a 5.4l modular engine out of Lincoln navigator or the cobra 5.4 engine you know the one with 4 valves per cylinder ..

Have the black vertical grille on my Expedition and it looks great. I pondered it for months because it looked horrible on other cars/trucks but with the tube bumper guard it really fits in nicely. Putting one on a Vic though... say you won't.

If you want a cheap Marauder, get a Grand Marquis not a Crown Vic. And in my opinion the Mercury emblem looks a lot better and compliments the car more than the Ford emblem does

when I get a crown vic, I will only mod it's performance, not the looks of it because it's so beautiful that it refuses any kind of exterior mods. I will only put a performance exhaust, a turbo charger and other stuff to increase its performance and that's it.

You can get a marauder grill and bumper from ebay. The grill is already black but the bumper would need a paint job

FYI 2017 Explorer wheels closely resemble Marauder wheels but are silver powder coated 18 x8 44 mm. Salvage yard etc. My set if 4 at 98% perfect were $150 total all four.

He steel wheel with the dog dish looks old school muscle car. Badass. Put your money in a supercharged 5.8 from a 13/14 GT500, a Coyote, or 4.6 supercharged beast from an 03/04 Terminator Cobra. The GT500 or the Cobra motor would be the coolest. The 5.8 makes big power.

I've been trying to figure out the Marauder rack and pinion. Which vehicle to get it from? Other steering parts? Will I need a different power steering pump? Can you fit Marauder suspension up front without major modification? Hopefully someone here knows

Panther cars use a recirculating ball steering setup. Except for the Marauder which uses a rack and pinion. Completely different setup. I want to know if someone else knows what other vehicle that rack came out of.

You are wrong. I have a steering box, idler arm, pitman arm, center link, and no steering rack in my Grand Marquis. When you look them up on the auto parts site, Grand Marquis have "steering gear" NO RACK, then look up a Marauder and there's a steering rack. Maybe take a look underneath one of those "6" non Marauders again on your own time.
