Love the content and in depth discussions that take place on this channel. I'd like to say that whoever produces, edits and chooses the music for your channel is spot on. It feels like a premium viewing experience especially for something like golf which only fanatics of the game can appreciate. The background of the shafts on the wall is pretty original and becoming a staple in what I enjoy about txg. The music choices are Devine and seem to emphasize a quality product. I'm not sure how much discussion takes place between matt and ian prior to filming but it's a very good yin and yang of ideas and insights between the two. Nothing about it says artificial. I love this format. Hitting into a simulated hole brings the psychology aspect into play. This format helps to answer the question “how much confidence does the club give me when standing over the ball with a difficult shot required?” Also, Matty has a really consistent strike, even among multiple brands. It is fun to watch and inspires me to work at hitting the ball more on-center.

Crazy how much better Matty’s swing looks since the beginning when he had that super long Gumby fold over swing. Well done guys, continued evolution is the name of the game.

Love this format for head to heads...feels very natural and 'real'. It adds the pressure you'd feel on course when actually putting these irons through their paces. What matters most to me (since choosing between heads like this is really splitting hairs) is, do I feel comfortable when looking down at it to hit the shot the hole requires

If you tend to be a drawer of the ball would you prefer a little less spin with your irons because if too much spin with a draw it’ll just keep going left? I’ve been told this at a club champion fitting and not sure if I believe it. Love the channel btw!!
@timbuma36936 жыл бұрын
Or would more spin help it hold its line more?

Definitely not, more spin will stabilize the ball flight and decrease the severity of the spin axis - so you'll draw the ball less.

I know you’ve tested cavity/blade/game improvement in the simulator. I’m curious the benefit of blades coming out of bad lies. If they spin more wouldn’t it help reduce the flier lies compared to a lower spinning game improvement iron?
@clubchampionmedia6 жыл бұрын
In theory, yes. A lot of the higher spin comes from the loft configuration though, game improvement irons are usually strong lofted to help with more distance, so a bunch of the spin is knocked off as a result. Game improvement or cavity irons played at traditional lofts would spin around the same as blades.

Watched so many of these vids they got me to go get fit. Went in today and have this question: I was hitting a 7 iron with 90 mph of swing speed and was getting spin rates in the mid 7000’s. My stock shot is a cut. My fitter mentioned he would like to see the spin rate for the 7 iron (718 AP2) more in the mid 5000 rate. Does that sound right? He recommended having my irons bent 2 degree strong to compensate for the spin rates since I have plenty of swing speed to get that ball in the air. Thanks in advance for the advice!
@clubchampionmedia6 жыл бұрын

I'm thinking of going a little smaller in the top line and if there is a better feel that would be great. The last set I tried on a fitting day were the mp18 blades and they felt fantastic. Solid and you could pinpoint the strike a little better than my 770s. Would the 785, mizuno sc and the mp18 blades have that pure forged feel, over something like the 770's? Or is that just myself trying to convince myself I may want other irons haha
