I have a Pocket Wrench 2. It was $4 in 2002 at Ace Hardware. Too bad they don't make it anymore as it's less bulky because it's flat. It has the several wrenches function, the pry end is tapered & also works as a large slotted screwdriver and it has a 1/4 inch bit holder. It makes a great handle for leverage on driver bits & sockets. I'm not sure why it never caught on because I'm thinking it's the best of all the ones I've seen on a whole lot of EDC pry bar videos on KZbin. Did I mention the standard & metric measure?

The Slidekick is nice. I don't carry a dedicated prybar yet, as my TPT Slide has one already integrated in it's design.

I'm curious, if they're all titanium why would they have different material ratings? Is it because you feel the one might chip? Are they different grades of titanium? Thanks

Hey Joseph! Great question and yes to both :) not a titanium is created equal.

New to EDC, what functionality do these tiny bars serve other than looking hip? Would be nice to incorporate some education on the tool in your videos for noobs.

I've actually wondered what most people would want a daily prybar for. I'm in construction, mostly painting, so I use pry tools all the time. But the 3 main things in looking for are: nail puller; paint can opener; package opener (then bottle opener, but everything has a bottle opener on it) Oh! And I do use both philips and flathead screw drivers frequently.

In many cases it's knife carriers who don't want to mess up their expensive knives prying or scraping something. It started with just prying capability, then it became popular to add bit drivers and other things to increase the utility of the pry bar. A good pry bar is nearly indestructible, so one would last a lifetime. Prybars can also usually be brought into places where knives are not allowed. Obviously not everyone needs one. I consider this "optional EDC" or maybe EDC+ ;-)

@@jwmmitch Think of it as a knife substitute. One can use it to pry, scrape, open boxes, etc. It's indestructible and saves wear on what might be an expensive EDC knife. I agree, many people don't need one. I got mine on sale as a whim, but now that I have it I use it and find that I reach for my knife less.

Olight Opry... probably beats all of them for functionality! It's my choice.

I'm late to this one, looks like. I was surprised to see neither Lynch nor Maverick Customs on this list. I think those are the two best pocket pry bars out there.... certainly not the cheapest. I prefer the Maverick Customs myself - available in different lengths/sizes, with pocket clip or without (although I believe all the pocket clips are removable), with bottle opener or without, with a lanyard hole, and I just prefer the straight, sleek design of them. You don't even notice them in your pocket, even the larger versions. Additionally, because the pry-end on the Maverick Customs is straight and because of the way it's beveled, it makes a good scraper and/or chisel, which is how I use them almost as much as for prying. I know there's a lot debate as to what people really use and what's pocket jewelry - myself, if there are two things I'll make sure I have on me, it's a pocket knife and a pry bar, and I'll exclude a multitool and flashlight for those two. I think the style of pocket knife I carry somewhat influences my affinity for a pry bar - I carry a traditional-style stockman knife, which is of course a slip-joint, definitely not doing any prying of any kind with that as it's not safe as well as not good for the knife.

Those may be your best 5, but they can't have beat out much of anything. Most of those aren't worth carrying. Maybe you should try a wider variety of pry wedges.
