Don't forget about smart lights, such as Phillips Hue. You can give Google Home multiple commands to change colours of lights and brightness. They make great bed lights for kids, you can turn them on and off when you're not home or on a holiday via Assistant... So many different things to do. You can also download other free apps that will change the colour of your lights for parties, etc.

the first gen chromecast will work with casting but it does not support TV control, 2nd gen and later will work the same way as in the video. thank you for the support

I don't know if you mentioned this function or not... There's one thing I really missed fromy iphone and it's when the countdown stops the music. With google home you can do that by saying "stop music in XX minutes". Doesn't matter what kind of media you're listening (Spotify, KZbin, local music, etc) once the countdown finished it stops the actual media. So when I go to sleep my playlist won't be still played 6 hours later (yeah I know I have an extremely long playlist) when I wake up. The feature I miss is that when there's a reminder it doesn't tell me what the reminder is, just that I have a reminder.

setup voice model matching. then it only listens to your ok google command. multiple people can still use the device by using their own Google account and adding their voice to the same Google home. but random voices won't trigger it.

You can also tell it to repeat after you. You just say ok google repeat after me then it asks you what would you like me to repeat then you say what you want it to repeat then it repeats.

Knew about all but the music alarm. So excited to be able to be woken up to music! I have been waiting for this feature. I have a Google home in every room in my house, and well, my whole house is full of smart things. Lights, plugs, switches, fans, TV's, thermostat, ect ect. I use my Google Home constantly, so a lot of these I have all become aware of, like I said the music alarm is new to me. Thanks for the tip! 😁

Funny, this video came out yesterday but I was reading about the new alarm function this morning because I received a notice from XDA about it. You XDA guys rule! One thing I found was that the Google Assistant talks more to me on the 5T than it did on my old phone (ASUS ZenFone 3). It seems to have more vocal feedback for some weird reason. I highly doubt I have any commands to share that you don't already know so... I won't take up any more of your time. ;) heh. PS. Can you do a 5T rooting tutorial or is the 5 rooting video suffice? In the google home app, you can switch the LED order so that it displays correctly when you use the google home upside down as you are. Its called "reverse device controls"

If you don't has a google music sub you can right click the song or album and add all to playlist name the playlist what ever ( I name it the album name usually) and I you can then play it from google home😉

I have a google home and two mini's. I knew I could touch the top of the Home but had no idea you could also touch the mini and interact with it. Thanks for that ! I always tell it to stop the alarm in the morning (this takes too long to do if someone else is sleeping)... touching it will be much better.

Thanks a lot! I learned about the and/then stuff. I've only had my Home Mini for a couple of months now, got it free through a Spotify promotion. I just signed up for it because it was a free gadget. I used to be 95% against any device that listens to what happens in my home, as in creepy. I've totally changed my mind. I love this little critter. Hi! Something to keep in mind is that new commands might not work for every locale... The alarm with music is apparently only currently working with US English and the chaining of commands does not appear to work in every language either...

+MarbledPaladin yes, they are working on making the new feature compatible with more devices and locations in the future. Right now the US and English usually gets the features first. But should be available in more place in the near future

Hopefully they will do that faster than handling all-day events in the calendar... Being able to access those is still not possible at least a full year after people noticed they were not accessible (even in US English...).

You can also say "Bonjour" to a google home (any one) and it will tell you the weather, traffic conditions near you, and will play a news recording, hopefully it will work for you, ❤❤❤

Is TK Ultra the name of your chromecast or the name of your TV? I guess what I am asking is whether you just need to connect the chromecast to the home or the TV as a separate device?

+Ryan Amirault TK ultra is my chromecast. You just connect your chromecast to your TV and setup your acct on it. And control it by asking to turn the Chromecast on and then off

Came to ask the same question. My tv has cec control (I discovered today I can also press pause on the TV remote to pause content playing from the Chromecast). Even though it's a smart TV, I keep it disconnected from wifi and just project stuff to it using Chromecast over HDMI input. But my Google mini speaker won't let me turn the TV on or off by voice when I say the name of my Chromecast and ask it to, like "OK Google, turn on living room". It just says it can't do that.

TK Bay I discovered it works if I say it a bit more explicitly. If I say "turn on living room" fails but "turn on living room Chromecast" succeeds. I think I need to adjust the name of some devices. My TV may be offline but my sound system has a similar name and I think is confusing the speaker assistant

I've know about using the g home to cast to Chromecast with Netflix but I still a have trouble getting it to play exact episodes or adult/mature content on Netflix. Also is there a way for it to ignore certain people/user? My niece constantly changing the voice and all round messing with it.

you have to setup voice match for personal features, but to limit the voice change we cannot disable that atm.
