1. Pick up the target, visualize the shot you want and commit to it. 2. Dont hestitant and always confident no matter what 3. Dont too happy or sad about the shots, stay emotionally cool 4. Have a good pre shot routine and repeat before single shot. 5. Dont think technical thoughts or emotional thoughts, dont think technique just focus to the target and execution

People should be watching you religiously. You weren't always confident etc. But over time you developed it and learned and matured to realize how easy it is to lose emotional stability when your self-talk or even body language is poor. Love your work. Glad I discovered your wisdom

I knew all this. But hearing it again helped me get out of my overthinking slump. Felt awkward swinging a club for about a month now. Went for 9.6 index to 11 in that time span. This video helped reassure me to just shoot whatever shot you have for that day and the rest will fall into place.

I find a little irony in a comment you made in one of the first videos, that you didn't expect this series to get as many views or likes as your other content. I immediately suspected that would turn out to be the opposite of your assumption. The mental game within the game and the "man vs himself", in my opinion, is the biggest attraction and what brings us back to the games we play.

At the time I genuinely thought it was going to be the case but I couldnt be more wrong. It has been incredibly rewarding reading all the comments from golfers who have found the series helpful to their game. Thanks for the comment

The hard part is to do this while thinking golf is all about the outcome of the good shots. The part that makes you love golf are the hillarious shots, the very low scores. And you should completly ignore that in your routine.
@ScratchAt505 ай бұрын
Its not about the outcome, its all about the process and routine and accepting the outcome if you executed positively.
@dominicblattmann37635 ай бұрын
@@ScratchAt50 I know, but after the round, you will talk about the par 3 shot that almost went in, not about the fact that you were able to stick to the proccess on 70 out of the 80 shots you took. And I see that there are many more of those good shots if you stick to the process.

After lots and LOTS of practice telling myself “focus on the next shot” it’s finally been working. I hit one in the trees and then when I get to the ball I start thinking how am I going to get out and back in play. You see all the tour pros hitting these hero shots out of the woods or off the cart path, it’s because they hit a bad shot to get themselves there.

Great to hear Daniel, it does take time to bed a process and routine in till it becomes automatic

It's all well and good to say "be confident" and the other good things you tell us to do. The challenge comes in how to do it. No one tells you how to do it when you're struggling with anxiety over the ball. Of course I need to be positive and commited and free, but how does one accomplish this when you're deep in the throes of the yips?

I’m a junior golfer, and I used to have a 9 handicap. However, recently, I haven’t been able to perform well in tournaments or just a casual round. None of my game plans seem to work out. When there’s an audience, it makes me nervous.Recently, I even shot a 97 in a tournament, which was my worst score ever. I feel ashamed. Thanks for making this videos it helps me remind all the stuff I’ve learned.

Harry Vardon said something to the effect that to be a champion (personally good??) golfer, one must have control of their emotions. Bobby Jones quote: golf is a game close to the game of life- you get bad breaks from good shots and good breaks from bad shots but (resolve) you must play the ball as it lies.

Have a friend that hits two bad shots and he's done. Tosses clubs, gets mad, cusses, etc. He's actually a very nice person, as odd as that seems. I hit a bad shot and I laugh. I'm not a professional golfer. Why should I expect perfection? The thing is I'm a 2 handicap and he's, well he's not. 😉 My thought process is... I'm not going to just magically get great. I take the attitude that I'm going to be better today than I was last time out. I've gone from about a 14 handicap to a 2 over the years. I'm now 65 and still play from 'regular tees', except in scrambles where I'll take advantage of the Senior tees.
