I want to take the time to say thank you for this series. Not only do I believe this is vital to a consistently good game, I believe it's the most important aspect of a good game. And I believe it is most often overlooked. So, thank you again for your hard work.

Thanks Troy. In principal every shot should be approached in exactly the same way regardless of the situation. If your opponent knocked it stiff before you, that 120y shot is still the same shot you had before your opponent played but most allow that to heap pressure and stress to our shot. Execute routine, process and commit 100% to your shot everytime. If you do that then you just accept the outcome because you did all you could to make that shot as good as possible.

@@ScratchAt50 Thanks, I'm re-watching each one now, and taking note of how they pertain to my golf game. I'm going through them slowly because you've packed a lot of good info in each vid. It's going to take a little time to fully digest, and make the connections to instances where I have messed up in the past, And hopefully, how to incorporate some of these ideas. Once again, thanks for the thought and effort you've put into this useful and eye opening series.

There's so much in that short video. Well done. There are 2 books that have helped me immensely. I have read them each probably close to 20 times. Unconscious Putting by Dave Stockton and Your 15th Club by Dr. Bob Rotella. Highly recommend both. They've been life changing to my golf game.

I'm very familiar with the quote you sited about caring less. I've been a student of sports psychology for a while but feel there is always more to learn. One can never be too strong mentally on the golf course. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to your upcoming videos. Also...is it possible to submit questions to you? Example: How do I block out sour or negative playing partners and not let them affect my game. Saying I'm going to ignore them and actually doing that are two different things. Thanks

Thanks for comment. Yes of course questions are fine. We are going to get into it all in the upcoming videos where I hope we can get you into a mindset where all you will be thinking about is your process and committing to the shot. This video from my last psychology series will be a good start kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnWWmKWbZsZgr5Ysi=UePfpAo982okhq0E

You've described me to a T. I was well on my way to reaching a 3 handicap and wanting to compete for my local club championship and the week before the tournament I lost everything! It's been 5 weeks now and I've gone from a 3.6 handicap to a 5.0 and for everything I was doing right during the summer I have completely lost and can't seem to get back. Driving range or golf course I am severely struggling with my driver. I've been battling golf for 16 years now doing everything I can to get better and it's completely demoralizing to see the fall I have taken. I just don't know what to do. I've tried to get help from peers and pros alike but at this time of the year no one can or wants to help. I'm fearing the worst and that is that I will lose it all and quit the game I love. :(

OK we are dealing with some demons and confidence issues here. You have to try and get out of being worried about the outcome and freely swing the club. Sticking to process and routine is key. This video from my previous series could really help I think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnWWmKWbZsZgr5Ysi=UePfpAo982okhq0E

@@ScratchAt50 Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I should be playing the next 4 days in a row here so I will try my best to work on the process and not the outcome and see what happens. I played a 9 hole yesterday and finished 3 over (I was satisfied as it was miles better than the last few weeks). I will keep you posted.

I've been working so hard on the physical aspects of my game and then when I don't see dividends on the course I just get angry, thinking I deserve to see improvement that logically should be there. It feels like disaster and destroys any confidence or even hope I had of seeing the improvement I desperately need. So, I'll keep watching. One thing I will never accept is being this dreadful at golf.

This outlook is all obviously all outcome focused. You have to completely focus on immersing yourself in executing your routine/process and accepting the outcome. I have continued golf psychology videos/advice in my members area that you could consider joining..

If you’re having lots of lessons and you have a million swing thoughts in your head from the lessons. How do you manage those thoughts ?
@ScratchAt50
@ScratchAt50 9 ай бұрын
Hi Carl, thanks for the comment. Its not easy when you are going through lessons and a change. I would say spend most of your time on the range/club practice ground working on what your PGA pro is instructing. However when on the golf course you have to park those technical thoughts and just play golf shots not golf swings. Acceptance and patience are huge, acceptance that bad shots are going to happen and dont get frustrated and patience that the hard work on the range will bear fruit in the future

@@ScratchAt50 thanks. Yeah I can see improvements. I was 30 hcp last years and 16 now. I loss heart when I tell my friends I had a great lesson and I’m better then they don’t see it when I play as I had all those thoughts in my head and cannot leave them behind and play bad. I’ll work on that. Thanks much appreciated
