I was just thinking about having the moms spayed. I glad that the males are neutered also. I don't understand people who don't have their pets fixed. Every cat that I've had, and there have been several, I had them fixed if they wasn't already fixed. 75% of my cats were not fixed when I got them.

A feral momma left 4 kittens on a neighbor's patio recently, maybe 4-5 weeks old, all boys. I kept two, another neighbor (who had recently lost her little dog to sudden illness) kept the other two. I'll be trapping the momma cat this week for TNR. We're all just over the moon, elated with how precious these babies are, but I get overwhelmed thinking about how many are struggling without any help. Thank you for your work, Chris. I can't always donate, but I'm trying very hard to make a difference in my little corner of the world (not too far from you, btw... Go Gators!) 😉

I had a kitten that looked almost exactly like him, and he was brought to me at the time by the neighborhood children, who said he was cornered by dogs when they found him. He wasn't angry initially. Perhaps he felt defeated when caught by the children? But after settling in my room, he made a beeline for my closet and growled when my boyfriend and I approached him. He only came out for food and formula and was resistant to that if we watched him. He was incredibly feral and dirty, and my boyfriend had to handle him with my moms gardening gloves to pull him out of our closet. I felt terribly sorry for him but remained patient despite the fact that it felt as though he would never come around. He would cry under my bed at night and I would wake up in the middle of the night to find him cuddling with me, but if I tried to pet him he would immediately run back to the confines of my bed; especially since we closed the closet off to him. We had read that we couldn't allow him to live hidden in the shadows forever, and so I followed the steps I learned from googling "how to reform a feral kitten," or something like that; it feels like ages ago now. It took a lot of patience, trust, toys, and spoon feeding exercises (so that he learned that my boyfriend and I would never harm him while he was vulnerable and eating) to grow into a big, cuddly, clean,social, ginger tabby house cat, that no one who met him could *ever* believe, started out an angry feral kitten from the streets. He remained our pampered baby for twelve more years, and even though we have new cats now, we still miss him. If you come across a rambunctious kitten like that, please be kind. We don't know what they've been through, and they may be sick and defensive. Patience and sometimes medical intervention could literally make all the difference in the world. ❤

@CatManChrisPoole I'll never forget the day before mother's day in 2017 when 3 kittens which were 2 gingercat brothers and their tortiecat sister, wandered into our yard. All 3 of them had conjunctivitis in the their eyes and they needed help urgently. We took them all to get vet care and all of 3 of these beautiful kitties have been with us ever since. 😻😻😻

What we see here is just the short but very gratifying moment of getting the little Ones of the street! But you do so much more than that; feeding community-cats, setting up the traps, all the driving involved and we know sometimes you get there and the cats are hiding! So you search for them and sometimes have to come back again later. And then there is of course all the care that comes after, when the kitties are safe! Thank you for all the hard work! And thank you for showing us so we can enjoy and we can learn how to help if we have the capacities!
