Tried the P790 but settled on the Apex. Main reason was head shape, P790 seems long whereas Apex seems taller. Apex will be in the bag for a long time as the quality is very good too...

Nice list but 1 bad thing about the hollow head is you get an occasional rocket of the club at least I’ve found it with the P790’s (Great distance overall though) Love the Mizuno 919 Forged ! May not be as long (weaker lofts than most) But great forgiveness, consistency and awesome feel!

I guess the forged is considered a “players distance iron “ and Hot Metal “ game improvement “ with the Tour a “players “ iron ...Can get a bit confusing but I Love all the choices 😊

You sure you’re not just getting the occasional flyer and blaming the clubs? Most mid handicappers couldn’t tell you what a flyer is.

It's not the club... The occasional "rocket" that you refer to is due to 3 pretty simple factors: An inconsistent swing speed... coupled w/ inconsistent contact on the face of the club... leading to an Inconsistent smash factor. That's what mid-handicappers do... Once in a while things just work out, everything comes together, and a mid-handicapper ends up hitting an occasional "rocket." Again, it's not the club...

That’s hard to do Dave as it depends on your swing characteristics. We’d suggest going to see a good custom fitter and trying as many as possible 👍

Nice review how ever I do believe you missed out on one of the best low to mid handicap irons out there for performance and price...You should have had the Wilson Staff FG V6 Tour irons in the group....weaker loft but the results per iron out does some the these....Just a Thought....Thanks....

They are a nice iron... probably more of a better players iron perhaps

I decided to get a set of player irons, mizuno mp32. I’m a mid handicap and because I can feel where I’m miss striking it’s turned me into a better ball striker.

Because you are a mid or even high handicapper don’t let yourself get bracketed in what clubs “you should get” It’s all down to the skill of the fitter

This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "13 handicap golf" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Tonayden Senadelyn Remedy - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my colleague got amazing results with it.
