"Investors" have destroyed the fun and ruined the hobby for people who collect for fun

top mistake is only caring about the money. its a hobby not a business and if your one of those people looking at it like a business your making a mistake.

That was cool man. Great editing as usual and on point with how to collect. I have some major wins and some major losses. Thankfully the wins greatly outweigh the losses, but it's important to remember no one is perfect. Lastly, f*** taxes lol

The typhlosion bit is kind of inaccurate. That 1% of psa 10s where definitely not all pack fresh, you are much more likely to get a psa 10 if it is pack fresh.
@MRkriegs2 жыл бұрын
Yea that is true
@halafradrimx2 жыл бұрын
How likely? Because fresh pull from packs doesn't guarantees a PSA 10 score.
@domdomvas8422 жыл бұрын
Nice but your calculation of the chance of getting a PSA 10 Typhlosion lacks realistic assumptions. There are 1,041 graded copies, but not all of these copies were pack fresh. Some were bought off of ebay and sent to PSA, some were stored in binders for years etc. So realistically, the chance to pull a Typhlosion and grade it a 10 are higher than 1.056%, nevertheless the chance is absurdly small and it's still not worth doing it as the expected value is negative. Nice take though!

Yeah i cannot stress it enough. I have the money to continue on pack opening. Its mainly the only way i get my cards/collection, and thats due to my enjoyment to how opening packs with my wife feels. Unless you have a good money flow, opening packs is NOT the way to go. Do not buy after a set comes out. Wait at most 2 months to buy singles in current set. Older sets you will need to pay attention a lot more to graphs on when a card is at its highest and lowest.

I actually never stopped collecting; I started in 1999 and ran a league until 2002. However, it became increasingly difficult to buy vintage cards in the mid 2000's until internet commerce sites like eBay became more mainstream. Then in about 2011, I started actively buying and selling online, making significantly more progress than ever before.

Not just pokemon but card collecting 101 right here! So ? How much do you think I could get for a Pokemon 2011 Call of Legends Lugia SL7 Holo in PSA 10 I haven't sent it out yet as that will be $250 Canadian with these new prices but I do think this card will fetch a 10 Do you think it's worth paying to get it graded?

I know this is suppose to be inspirational..especially in the end, but this has to be said. It did NOT take Ash 25 years to win a league. He kicked butt, and won, both the Orange Islands and the Battle Frontier. Put some respect on his name.

He said :25 seasons" in this video. But I think it was 22 seasons/years before he won a major Pokemon League
