Hey Landon, welcome back. I used to watch you under a different name. I started my horror book channel in July because I got tired of waiting for you to come back. I'm kidding about that last part. Glad to see you're getting your college education.

The beginning of Heart-shaped Box (the scene you described) really scared me. I remember lying on my couch reading it, and suddenly I thought someone was in my flat - I got super scared. (There was no one, fortunately.)

Exactly, scariest scene in Joe Hill novel haha.

Hey Landon...can you please make a review of Edward lorn's new book south of here's?

The chapter with the scare sparrow in E.'s EIHN indeed is very scary. Unfortunately, the book got too much into cosmic horror in the end which I found not very interesting.

You know what I'd find interesting to learn about: When, where and how you read. Do you have certain days or hours? Do you read alone or in public? On a chair, a couch, the floor? How many pages/chapters do you (try to) read? Do you read several books at once or just one? Do you make notes or excerpts or do you underline? Do you listen to music while reading? In short: let us know about your reading habits, if that's okay. At least I'd find it interesting (as a fellow reader and book nerd). Greetings from Germany.

Just to add to the list: the - by far - scariest book I have ever read is Nathan Ballingrud's 'Visible Filth'. Ask E., he will confirm it. But be warned: it's REALLY scary. Also very scary is Kealan Patrick Burke's 'Blanky'. Holy crap, did I have goosebumps 😮 Both of those are highly recommended.

Least you did what was best for you sometimes a hiatus is a good idea if you get burned out then it's not fun. Revival by SK and Rats In The Walls by HP Lovecraft are my contenders for scariest storys I've read. Rats in the walls also is a good contender for most racist story ive read as well I read a bunch of lovecraft recently I find hes hit or miss mostly the writing sometimes kills it but his concepts I usually found intriguing. Prefer the movie adaptations tbh.
@LandonA4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, a good hiatus was what I needed haha. Revival was great but I've never heard of Rats in the Walls but that's because I never got into HP Lovecraft
@therealzeldamasterofminecr24344 жыл бұрын
@@LandonA HP Lovecraft is only if you like classic fiction or classic cosmic horror or if you want to see where the modern style of horror began. My main proble. With him is he writes people the exact way they talk so if they are like some country stereotype it looks like gibberish. A lot of people are talking about the racism as of recently cause more people are discovering him and there is a bunch of it again it's from the 1910s-30s if some of that bothers you with classic fiction maybe just read a synopsis of the story instead or watch a movie version they cut that part out. His life is more interesting then the books cause it was a disaster its kindve nuts the guy lived long enough to write or wasnt in a mental asylum his parents were thrown in a asylum and stuff it's something I found a good video on youtube about his life I'll have to link to if I find it again cause it was pretty interesting what his life was like

When Cutter's Troop comes to mind, all I can think of is how disgusted and grossed out I was. That's all I remember of the novel, though it had an interesting structure with the lab reports and newspaper clippings and all that. Unfortunately, it's Cutter's only readable novel. The Deep and The Acolyte are pretty dull and uninspired in my opinion.
@LandonA4 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats what I've heard. I plan on reader more Cutter but all I've heard are ok things not great things like The Troop.
