It's funny because I was wondering exactly that when Clint commented on wondering why it was called an iguana. I was thinking that maybe it was a South American or local term for lizards in kind of the same way that in English (or at least in American English) we often refer to insects and other small arthropods as "bugs" even though it's not taxonomically correct. Thanks for sharing that!

As a kid living in the coastal region of Peru, I remember a large lizard (probably some kind of teiid) that lived in the dry scrubland. The colors were nondescript except for bright blue on the neck. We just called them iguanas which they weren't, but a common word that did describe their size.

@@TeguTamer they tame down incredibly well! They really are reptilian puppies. Warms my spirit that people are willing to take in wild caught babies. Breaks my heart that many individuals must now suffer at the hands of trappers due to human negligence and their refusal to take any personal accountability. I plan on creating a sanctuary for tegus that have been confiscated from the wild. I'd originally planned to do so in FL, but I'm now hesitant with the new legislation. They deserve to have a safe place to live; they are here through no fault of their own. My Pubba is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me 🥰

This video was awesome! I love reading up on new species so a video like this is amazing, I loved the introductionary information you gave about the species. I wouldnt mind if it was a bit more in depth.

The yellow tegu [Salvator duseni] also deserves a mention, and IMO its practically a crime that they don't exist in the pet trade. Probably has the same personality as the argentine and red tegus, just comes in a cool color!

An argentine black and White tegu is one of my dream reptiles. Great vid! ✨ I'm wondering if you'll ever cover the Russian Ratsnake (Elaphe Schrenckii). Such a BEAUTIFUL, hardy, interactive and intelligent snake. That is also known for it's docile behaviour! 😄 I think you'd love them from what I've heard

Well hi there! I was seeking some reptile advice from someone knowledgeable, and of course, you guys came to mind! Unfortunately, my school has a rule against enclosures 10+ Gallons, so until now, I've been keeping mantises as a glorious reptile substitute. Following these guidelines, I was wondering if you'd recommend Eurydactylodes for my first reptile. Since your video a while back, I've absolutely fallen in love with them, and have found a local breeder (after much research of course). Thanks for the help, stay safe, and have a terrific day!

I love your informative videos, I was wondering if you ever planned to score the Scheltopusik? I've been considering getting one myself and it would be wonderful to hear some more information from you, plus I think they are fantastic animals.
