Great video, if you like the railway design watches like the UG towards the end of the video check out Perseo FS models. The ones issued to the Italian railway have a unique number stamped on the caseback, commercial models are called Railking. They are high quality with Cortebert/Unitas movements and are usually very affordable.

Thanks for taking the time to make these informative videos. 👌 Q? Have you ever had a Seamaster Dynamic II (Spider)? If so, what are your thoughts?
@TimelessHistoryChannel2 жыл бұрын
Spider dials are very interesting and loved by a group of collector. However, regardless of the model or brand, thoroughly examine the condition of the dial before you buy it. Spider dial is an unique way of aging and is actually the dial cracking up. It looks cool, so collectors describe the crack this way to make it sounds interesting. If you tell the client that the dial is cracking, he/she will most likely not want to buy it. You will find that this mainly happens to 1960s glossy dial watches. I guess it is the chemical used on watch dials during that era. Examine the dial to make sure that no crack is peeling or missing on the dial. As long as everything appear well cracked, you are safe to buy it. And inform your watchmaker to be gentle when cleaning such a dial.

Have not work on one for a long time. But it is a great size watch and a quality movement.

@@TimelessHistoryChannel awesome, thanks! Looking forward to getting it. I have zero experience with working on movements but looking forward to trying to polish it and bringing some new life to the crystal and case. Looking at some of your "how to" vids for inspiration. Thanks, and looking forward to picking up one of your Omegas or that Universal Geneve once your new site goes up.
@TimelessHistoryChannel3 жыл бұрын
@@cdb5001 You're welcome. Try not to polish the case if you can or do anything to the dial/hands. You want to keep the watch as original as you can. Clean the case is fine. Polish the crystal is fine also.

@@TimelessHistoryChannel ah ok thank you. Maybe just some Polywatch on the crystal.

@TimelessHistoryChannel3 жыл бұрын
Nice! Well, normally when the dial is blank then the model is unsigned. Meaning a regular model. But that does not mean you bought a bad watch. Condition is most important. The model design is only a personal preference thing.

Great information, right to the point and very helpful.. Have considered some of your Longines just very much focused on your Omega's right now. What is your life time special warranty? Have a Merry Christmas!!
@TimelessHistoryChannel3 жыл бұрын
Oh boy, apologize that I never informed you about it. Any of my regular manual wind or automatic vintage Omega or Longines sold on the site will come with a year warranty. When that expired, the lifetime special warranty will take over. That means as long as you remain the original owner of the watch, anytime you return the watch back to me for a regular maintenance service it will only cost you $100 plus shipping each time! If any parts are required that will be extra.

what is the book you leaf through in the video?

It’s a watch collector book with price guide that I bought from Chapter book store about 9 years ago. It is a nice book to look at brands and some of their designs. But I highly do not recommend for the use of price guide. The prices shown in any book is never that accurate compared to what people sell in the real market.
