For those light gun games, I highly recommend using the Wii remote in a plastic gun with the Mayflash dolphinnbar. That is if you can pick up some cheap Wii controllers and gun cases for cheap. I have the pistol, "crossbow", and the Big Buck Hunter rifle cases. Makes all the light gun games really fun. If you can't find all that for cheap, then spend the money to get a really good gun like the Sinden.

There are quite a few options I've found for running lighting games through Batocera. Been watching Batocera Nation regarding use of light guns on it, it's a very strong possibility they will get added at some point this year. Wii remotes seem pretty cheap nowadays but need to see what will work best with my cabinet and set up. Mayflash dominator sounds crazy badass lol

It definitely wasn’t the golden age of my childhood. But a few of these games gave us countless hours of fun especially in 2 player mode. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, etc. The worst part about this time period was too many generic games and especially licensed games that were generic and didn’t live up to the cream of the crop. Capcom and SNK really got their big break and chance to shine. Going to the arcades may have not been the phenomenon that we experienced the previous decade. But we got better arcade ports at home that were near perfect much of the time. This definitely contributed to a decline in attendance at the arcades. It’s great to look back and remember the very first time I got to see these games in action and just how great they looked and played. Both graphics and gameplay mattered and anything less was to my disappointment. Pit Fighter was really mind blowing at the start of the decade. It hasn’t aged well and often gets a bad rap but it opened the doors to possibilities and the future of arcade gaming. I remember seeing it for the very first time with a group of friends. I knew that the future was here. Fighting games were what really dominated and also the downfall in many ways as there were too many of them that were short of greatness. Fortunately a few really good fighting games still exist in this genre currently. The decade ended with games like Street Fighter III and Crazy Taxi. Even a few years before then the arcades were disappearing and the nickel arcade places were taking over. Neo Geo games have been something I have been collecting in digital form in recent years. Especially because these games were beyond expensive to play at home. I remember seeing the Neo Geo classics in my high school years and being fascinated by the animation. The best part is how great they still look and how fun they are to play. Great memories and great times. It felt like the end of an era and the extinction of the modern arcade in the mid 90’s era. Still a lot of essential games came out in this decade that won’t be forgotten any time soon.
@SwobblyDoesStuffАй бұрын
It was like they had a formal and just remade games to cash in. Still a few gems that stood out above and beyond the rest. The 80s shaped the 90s but the 90s were more cash grabbing esp later on in the decade when home systems got more capable.
@originalfred66 Жыл бұрын
Obviously the graphics in the 90s were far superior to the 80s, but the 80s games seemed to have a lot more variety and character. They were willing to try anything in the 80s, and they came up with so many unique concepts. Maybe the limited hardware and graphics in the 80s forced them to focus on game play.
@SwobblyDoesStuff Жыл бұрын
80s games were more about learning the patterns to beat waves where I think the 90s were purely about getting people to pay. Usually the simplest games that get us addicted to them, like pacman and Galaxians etc. Simple ideas, such fun to play.

Don't get me wrong, I pumped many quarters into these in the day, but yes, the 90's games, while technically much more advanced, definitely lacked the variety and originality of games from the 80's. @SwobblyDoesStuff Sorry! I'm defensive about Dig Dug! Knee jerk reaction!

Hey its all good, we all have games we are passionate about and that is what helps make gaming (especially classic gaming) something close to our hearts

BeatEmUps and fighting games are not the same, KOF is a fighting game

Different people in different countries refer to each differently. That I've learned whilst doing this

@@SwobblyDoesStuff I mean i have been in the FGC and traveled a lot for fighting games and they are not interchangeable terms.

@@nellen55 if kof is a fighting game and does have the word fighters in the title. This is what was said to me ages ago. What fighters do is fighting, it's a game featuring fighters, fighting. So, a fighting game. In which you beat up others. So also a beat em up as the game is to beat others up. People say and call things different all over. It's.notnwortg worrying about.

@@SwobblyDoesStuff i said KOF is a fighting game, not a beat-em-up, the video game industry disagrees with you btw Capcom has fighting game collections and beat-em up collections, you will not find a fighting game company that calls a fighting game a beat-em-up

Your list is like 75% fighting games :/ WHat happened to Spy Hunter? Cyberball? TRON, for god's sake?
@SwobblyDoesStuff Жыл бұрын
As with most comments, it's not my list it's one that was voted for by thousands of gamers. I made an extra video with some of the great games that were not in to the top 50
@sirlancenotalot2765 Жыл бұрын
Those games were the 80s which he covers in the video he has done for the 80s. The 90s arcades were probably 75% fighters at least 🤔

No rastan, no Simpson, all fighters even sf2 he didn't like to much at num 1
@SwobblyDoesStuff Жыл бұрын
@@thrjfi5360 Simpsons was released in 1991 and is in my top games of the 90s. As for the other game, not heard of it and no one ever voted that on to the top 50 on any game lists.

This is 90’s arcade games. Not 80’s. Pay attention.

What??? No Neo turf masters, NFL blitz, nhl open ice, or bust a move??? This list is dog water.
@SwobblyDoesStuff9 күн бұрын
Personally I'd only rate bust a move out of that list of games. As stated a million times, not my list, one voted on by many thousands of internet users

street fighter 3s is the best of all time, how is shit like "world heroes" over it.

Ask the millions of people who voted the order of the games. Not everyone feels the same I guess

@@SwobblyDoesStuff feels pretty random, sf3s had over 1000 people enter evo this year and is the top game on Fight Cade. it also has the most famous fighting game clip of all time, World Heroes at this moment only has 4 people playing it right now I just looked. i know you did not make the list just saying it's crazy that that happened
