Very nice rundown on mods. I have the cobra intake swap, but still using some of what you made is applicable. It is incredible how much a tune brings it all together. I the bigger 1 1/4" rear sway bar from SCP and it did help with drifting transition management.

I got one of these when I was 14 and I've had it for over a decade. Done all the work by myself. Love the car, but has an absolute boat load of things that break. It's a 40k luxury car from the 90s. So it's exactly what it is, but they're extremely reliable engine wise and an absolute blast to drive. Working on these had slowly turned me into a mechanic and now I work on diesel trucks 😂. Love them!

I bought the same one as you for 2000 and it has 102,000 miles on it. love it. I also have a 1997 oldsmobile aurora that is fucking crazy with 130,000 miles on it. I got it with 127,000 for 800 dollars. the aurora is my first car ever

I think when my oil got changed at walmart it fucked it up. so now I'm thinking about putting a cadillac eldorado esc or seville sts motor in it. everything in an aurora is basically a cadillac and the transmission is the same so should be an easy bolt up and the aurora motor is just a smaller one of them. I love the l47 motor. wish it didnt do that

Building my 2000 gt mustang. I did cold air intake, Diablo sport 93 Oct. Tune x pipe cat back and cat delete. I learned the best 2 mods were exhaust and clutch/flywheel believe it or not. To avoid the permanent check engine light when removing the cats. The way to solve that is buy Steeda MIL Eliminaters. They are cheap and plug into the spot where the cat o2 sensors would go and it sends a dummy signal tricking the ecu into thinking the cats are there. So no limp mode issues etc.. the tune x pipe and intake made decent power but what made my car able to walk 94-98 cobras and 99-02 non supercharged cobras (03-04 were the terminators and those I couldn't touch obviously lol) but from 94-02 dohc non sc stock cobras were like 310-330hp and my 260hp stock gt was walking them by 2 or 3 car lengths so I estimated I was making 330-360hp with those mods. Normally not enough but the secret I had that made the biggest impact was putting in a centerforce dual friction clutch and a fidenza aluminum flywheel out of a cobra race car I parted out. That flywheel allowed the 330hp I had to spool so much faster than the stock ones that are cast iron. Stock iron one was like 80lbs. The aluminum one was like 15 lbs.. that's the one thing I recommend to everyone in a 4.6. If it's sohc or dohc 4.6. GET AN ALUMINUM FLYWHEEL. AND WATCH UR 300HP RESPOND LIKE ITS 400HP

Absolutely love these cars. I literally own 5 of them! Love the performance tips. One unfortunate problem I had was the cold air inlet was too low factory on my 97. I was driving home on a back road in the Ozarks foothills during a heavy rain. Crested over and down between two hills, where a flash flood was flowing at least half a foot deep, sev yards across. Couldn't see it in the dark until I sailed into it, splashing torrents of water into the intake, hydro locking the engine before I could shut it down. It broke a connecting rod and threw it through the block.

Never thought of that! That will happen on an outboard, usually demolishes just the first rod and piston, but the case can get pierced too. It might be worth testing the high pressure zone just before the windshield, the air will have way less debris and dust also. Cheers 🍻

These cars, at this age, are not for tire kickers. You need to be ready to turn wrenches when it breaks. I had a spark plug blow out of my 98 LSC. Had to buy a thread insert kit to fix the head. Also did all repairs myself on the car. Thankfully these cars are fairly easy to work on

Just for references one of my 1997 Lincoln Mark 8 &135,000 I had the third catalytic removed implace a true dual setup right after passing smog for January 2018 two years later my car pass smog no check engine light. And I live in Southern California San Bernardino county on paper it says Lincoln Mark 8 only needs two cats to pass. Just hope nobody looks underneath and see only two catalytics you will pass smog.And fell the visual.

I have Jerry's Mod and a 2700 stall converter. I burn the tires between gears 1-2, 2-3, and chirp on 3-4. ISE SYNTHETIC FLUID AND FOR GODS SAKE INSTALL A TRANS COOLER OR YOU GONNA BURN IT UP.

I bought mine with a blown trans, 4.10s, 4" driveshaft, and Reinhart tune. Rebuilt the trans and dropped in a 3600 stall. Jeebus she rips through 1st.

Most undervalued car. And 97-98 gen 2 is trash straight grandpa tune they run good tho but are full of more electrical problems then gen 1. The real hot rods are 93-96.
