To invest tax payers' money in a mega project govt has got to study RIO. ls it worthwhile to proceed. One of the main issues is how many people can benefit it. lf east Malaysia is economically viable and emerge as one of regional hubs of industries surely the govt will invest into it

All these development are great but at what costs to future generations? Corruption is rampant here and ought to be eradicated and the outdated corrupt veteran politicians need to make way for young blood. We need robust imagination to redesign Msia. The whole federal cabinet is regressive and must be changed to a multiracial mix to benefit future generations. Religion needs to be kept private and not spilled over into policymaking.

If Penang island itself is not building an MRT system, in the next 10 years the traffic will put off investors. Second, Penang Island needs a train service to connect to the mainland, and this railway will boost the jobs and tourism industries tremendously. Stop the new islands projects if the above 2 proposals are not met.

Sabah and Sarawak need education more than urban development. A new city without significant amount of people (professional/highly educated) will slow future grow thus will destroy the real potential (dead city).

@@fab8490 You confuse with the concept of urbanize and regional development. Only tourism, job opportunity and higher salary will attract people. To achieve that the local government need to increase investment from local/foreign corporation. But with out education which will lead to lack high professional worker, the new investment opportunities will only benefit outsider who will be new resident to SS.

@@fab8490 As much as professional individual is important, the workers itself much more important. SS statics show that young individual stay out of system because of no exposure. This tend to happen with lack of education generation which mostly make them do work that are not recognize in system. (Kerja kampung etc)

I think Malaysian eat too much. In general food is not much an issue. Main issue is lifestyle, we are living a lifestyle that is not sustainable with current and future challenges. For that new and better work opportunities needs to be created. Some of these projects such as ECRL, MRT and the Johor RTS are meant to facilitate the creation of better and newer work opportunities.

@@fab8490 I'm very sure this project will bring prosperity to East Malaysia as it will ease connectivity between both states. Najib seems to be the only PM to concern about Sabah and Sarawak, so, to stimulate the demographic and economix development of Sabah and Sarawak he drafted a plan to build this highway. Sort of like the silk road of borneo. Besides that, your state government should also consider promoting STEM industries like those on Peninsular Malaysia and attract foreign investors to boost up the development drastically, so that both developments in Malaya and Malaysian Borneo are in equilibrium.

Sabah dan sarawak banyak sumber2 bumi harap pemimpin di sana bijak untok membangun negeri masing2 dri pelanchong dan juga industries kuase mutlak ada pada pemimpin negeri bukan pada kerjaan persemutuan sumber oil &, gas petronas dah bayar royalty kalau x cukup bincang sama petronas kami di semenanjong akn berasa bangga jika sabah dn sarawak maju mcm selongor penang dan johor neveri lain di semenanjong sama tara dgn sabah dn sarawak banyak tempat blom cukop membangun sepatatut nye trengganu ada maju kerna hasi minyak slow sedikit walaupon nampk ada perubahan.

Banyak rakyat di Sarawak dn Sabah tidak berpuas hati, krn Kerajaan Persekutuan tdk membina jaringan kereta api di kedua negeri tersebut. Bila di Sarawak dn Sabah di bina laluan kereta api dr Kuching ke Kota Kinabalu, sipa yg naik??? Sebab penduduk negeri Sarawak dn Sabah less than 10 Mio. Population of Sarawak dn Sabah Ideally around 30 Mio. And every one family in Sarawak n Sabah should have minimal 7 children to make Sarawak n Sabah more advanced in the future n not depend to much to foreign immigrant to build their states.

Lol. Tu ko kena belajar, most development come from investor bukan goverment 100%. Sbgai rakyat, ko kena pandai amik kesempatan dr kemajuan negara, dr segi pekerjaan (education kena pk, kalau bljr asyik main2 mmg xdpt kerja), dr segi peluang perniaagaan etc. Imagine la buat projek 10 billion jual 1 rumah kat ko rm50k ke?? Majukan diri jgn asyik salahkan org. Kau mengeluh la, menangis la, ko berapi2 lelalak lah xde sapa peduli weh sampai kiamat. Majukan diri sendiri jgn banyak bg alasan, aku dlm komuniti org2 OKU, ramai yg alhamdullillah boleh brjaya diorg berusaha bersungguh2, ada juga yg gagal (tahu org mcmna? Yg banyak mengeluh dan bg alasan) usaha 20% membebel 80%. More talk than work. Nak brjaya usaha 120% talk -20%.
