Do you have a preferred position (supine, prone, or seated) for measuring hip internal rotation?
@the.hip.physio5 ай бұрын
@@digitalobserved yep I do both and measure in both but prefer supine. Seated measurements can sometimes be flawed as if the hip hurts the patient can end up compensating with trunk flexion, shifting or side flexing. I don’t tend to do prone personally.

Very informative. I’ve had labrum repair/bone shaving on left hip 8 months ago and dealing with impingement/fraying labrum on right. Very painful and trying to treat with physical therapy per my surgeon but I’ll be honest some days are just hard. In your experience, do you see a lot of patients that can live pain free with conservative treatment?

@@RachelPorter-r5b hey Rachel. Appreciate the feedback 🙏 many people can successfully manage it conservatively without surgery for sure, there are defo a number of variables though contributing towards that. I’m going to post a video soon next week ‘HOW do you treat FAI / hip impingement and avoid surgery?’, hopefully you’ll find it helpful :)

Are these symptoms that you mentioned similar to the symptoms of osteoporosis?
@the.hip.physio4 ай бұрын
Heya, no actually a bit different. OP where it is bone density loss, wouldn't really have a pain pattern presentation similar to this.
