Team Skull definitely gets the W from me. They've actually got depth to them and the fact that Guzma actually flips sides is a major point in his favour rather than a flaw in my opinion. People are complicated, not one note like a lot of games make them out to be. Growth is important for narratives and compelling character development. Plus, his theme is an absolute banger, so you know.

Going self-aware definitely helped Team Skull! The devs knew that the usual grunts were more of a nuisance than anything - so having the grunts actually play into that and have funny dialogue per encounter made every battle so memorable! Of all the team leaders, Guzma is definitely my favorite! He hits pretty much every note for me on terms of design, backstory, music, dialogue, etc.

Sun and Moon are some of my favorites in the series, and they feel fairly modern since they came out on 3DS. They're definitely worth trying I think!

Their mafia aesthetic is very fun for sure! And I'm a sucker for their designs! Those cool hats mixed with the white gloves and boots is such an iconic look :)

Another thing that I love about them is that they're also present in 2 regions. In a way, they make Kanto and Johto feel more alive in terms of story progression from Gen 1-3 and their remakes.

@@lorenzomabalos9851 I made sure to give them credit because of that for sure! It makes a world of difference when you can see the evolution of a villainous group between multiple games. We've only really seen it with Team Plasma. Being able to see Team Rocket adopt new leaders was such a treat in Gold and Silver!

Won't lie Each team has pros and cons for me but Plasma was the first that made me shocked at how far a team leader will go. Like Giovanni was bad but Ghetsis Harmonia Gropius was just CRUEL in my opinion

Sincerely, Ghetsis is PEAK Pokemon villain to me. Guzma is the better character between the two but Ghetsis feels like he carries the weight of being the ultimate big bad. To the point where the Team Rainbow Rocket arc felt weird since the final boss was Giovanni even though it felt like that spot should've belonged to Ghetsis. Yeah, Plasma was just BUILT DIFFERENT.

Now that Scarlet & Violet came out, here are my feelings on Team Star: I really dislike them as a villainous team. They are not malicious and they're not even really thugs. Even Team Yell at the end of the day were people that caused mischief. They have no consistent design across the board either. EVEN TEAM YELL HAD CONSISTENT DESIGNS AMONG THEIR MEMBERS. Team Star is the worst. Sadly. But as a story plot point, they're pretty good honestly. I did feel their plight. But yeah, Team Star is lame as a villainous team. So I think this might be my only "villains" list I think I could pull off :o I've done "spooky" villains before but it was kinda unofficial since I just tiered them. I can't say I've played too many Nintendo games otherwise people would be upset I didn't put Andross from Star Fox or a Kirby villain :o So I think top Nintendo villains is out of the question sadly. On terms of general media, might be a little tough as well! I really don't dive into stuff other than video games unless it's April Fool's day! Though if I had to pick my favorite villain in general media, I gotta go with Infinity War's Thanos personally.

...I really like how the numbers look like the logos for the teams they correspond to and wish I had been able to look at them longer without pausing the video. Though I'm not sure I agree with team rocket being third, since they're pretty nebulous in goals, have boring designs overall, and aside from the USUM rainbow rocket arc (which felt more like a collaborative effort than a rocket-centric one) it feels like their enhancements are just trying to pointlessly bring new value to a team that they only use to capitalize on nostalgia. Silver is interesting as a character, but even if he's correlated with team rocket due to Giovanni he's not part of it, so I don't think he should be swaying it much. Or maybe it's just that I think team aqua and magma are very fun for their interactions with the player and each other, since the two opposing teams dynamic isn't something we saw before or since. It's underrated, in my opinion, even if they could've done so much more with it.

It was a mixture of unprofessional and things I'm legitimately proud of lol. I'll tweet them out right now I think for you guys to see :) If there's one spot I can debate, it's definitely Team Rocket's placement. I think an argument could be made for them to be placed worse than Team Magma/Aqua but not better than Team Galactic. It's just hard because, like you said, it's definitely all the upgrades they got over time that pushed them. But it's been fun seeing the group evolve and evolve. They do overstay their welcome but it's been neat to see their development over time. I don't think I would add Silver to the group's ranking overall, but I can't deny his legacy. If I had to make a subjective judgement call, I do prefer Team Magma/Aqua to Rocket. But like I said, it's mostly because they're pretty faces to me. They just look and feel awesome but they're not really all that deep either. Or at least, not until ORAS when you can befriend Maxie and Archie. Thanks for the insight!

Ngl as much as i love this list i think team galactic at least deserves a third place since you got into lore for team skull being first in the tier i say lore absolutely makes team galactic in the third place especially cyrus's backstory adding up with masters ex and manga is heartbreaking (small spoiler i guess but only reason cyrus is "emotionless" and wanna get rid of emotions in the first place is because he got emotionally abused by his parents even in the game theres a dialogue about that "he was a bright student who worn up trying to live up to his parents expectations")

Just heard about a Pokémon that only evolves in Multiplayer I can get a bunch of it in my box ready to evolve for us next stream. We should look in to trade evolutions too IDK what they are yet. But yes there is a Pokemon that you need multiplayer to activate its evolution Meaning you have to be in multiplayer then have it at level 37 and then while still in multiplayer you have to trigger it evolving to level 38 . I think a few rapid fire online sessions should knock that out. And if you have a Pokemon Wish list I'll catch any thing you ask for and set it aside also for trades.
