Veganism should also be a spiritual thing, in fact, the original ancient raw plant base eaters (raw vegans) were very spiritual. Take the shaolin monks for example, although very gentle, they can be very lethal. That is how I am, a spiritual martial artist, weight lifting warrior who is a raw vegan. Blessings

@@leehyunsong7001 The thing is, factory farming is beyond more destructive e.g animals, plants, tress, nature/eco system, water source; and all that grain being used to fattened up the animals with, they can use it to stop world hunger. Plants and trees produce fruit and vegetables, an extraction one might say, a secretion like tears, eye boogers and mucus etc, then ripe to eat. Blessings

I would also mention Turin - Italy. For 800k people more than 20 100% vegan restaurants and a lot of vegan friendly places. The first 100% vegan bakery in Italy (since 2009), Ratatouille and many other choices 🇮🇹❤️

Italy has so much traditional dishes that are completely vegan: pasta al pomodoro, focaccia, panelle, farinata, minestra di pane, fave e cicoria, spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino, etc. And I would not mention Pizza that is easily "veganizable". We can compare Edinburgh and Turin: Happy Cow says 11 Restaurants (500k people) for Edinburgh and 23 for Turin (880k). For me... Not bad!

Vegetarian friendly, yes. Vegan friendly is more in the south than in the north. Paneer isnt part of the main cuisine here and never in my life have i seen anyone use cream in their cooking, which is more used in north indian cuisine. Of course, vegan version of it can be made. But by the way its cooked normally, it isnt vegan friendly in the north.

I live in Bristol and I’m really spoiled for choice here. The city has always been opened to alternative lifestyle. Apart from the vegans restaurant, nearly all restaurants in the city, from the most expensive to most affordable ones, all have at least one vegan option, which is soo greaatttt! I hope it will be like this all over the world xxx

I’m so glad Portland was on the list. It’s always been culturally forward, liberal, and high on the arts. Veganism is a perfect fit. I recently traveled to Reykjavík, Iceland. Lots of vegan options there as well. Quite surprising considering how small the country is. As a country, they are very focused on the environment. Definitely recommend a visit!

@Flyleap That's fine. And I agree that some people are unaware of the diff between vegan and vegetarian, and yet speaking confidently. But there is an ancient religion "Jain" which is probably the oldest or the second oldest(diff theories) religion of the world, follows the lifestyle which is quite similar to vegan. And even better that that, bcoz they also exclude root vegetables bcoz during the process, it kills numerous organisms. Jain monks travel with naked legs so that they don't hurt any small lives. Inshort, they do every possible thing to don't hurt others, by physically or mentally. Read about them in details, as you are not Indian, you will be amazed by their philosophy.

Pretty much every decent restaurant in Toronto has vegan options now, and there are SO MANY incredible vegan restaurants. I cannot wait to go back and indulge in some great vegan delights! As someone who lives in Tel Aviv, I am surprised that TLV is not nu. 1 on this list. Literally almost all resturants in Tel Aviv are vegan and those that aren't, offer a lot of vegan options and have a HUGE vegan menu. Jerusalem should also be on the list, not only for the variety of plant based cafes, diners, resturants and hummus places - but also because most people here are gardeners and eat off of their garden only. WOW. I wish I lived in Bristol, England or Portland, Oregon. I've been happy for the last two years because there is place in my city where I can buy a vegan burger. I would spoilt for burgers in Bristol or Portland.

most of our ancient Thamizh cuisine are vegan something that is still prepared day to day in the household. what you're speaking of is because of the influence of the west (fast food) , mughalai and the north Indian cuisine. @@cyanaboy - Most of Indian vegetarian food is vegan friendly. Dairy is mainly used for sweets. Almost all Indian cities are vegan friendly.
