This was great, been searching for "which dr scholls inserts are best?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Danandonton Miraculous Domination - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for discovering how to end your foot pain without the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my work buddy got amazing success with it.

I just picked up a pair of Timberland Pro Anti Fatigue insoles tonight after work. I wear a 11D-11.5D and bought the large. They had to be trimmed down in width near the toe and slightly shortened. I used my factory Wolverine Durashock insole for a pattern. So far these seem like nice insoles. I like the soft and squishy type the best. I don't like hard or rigid insoles and my feet, back, hips and knees don't either. Walking around on hard plastic can't be good for you in the long run.
@JohnDoeEagle1
@JohnDoeEagle1 7 жыл бұрын
Did anyone else notice many of the newer insoles today would make a crack if you threw them down on the hard floor instead of a thud? I don't get why everyone is making hard plastic rigid insoles these days. That would be the last thing I want or need. Maybe someone with extremely high arches would need them. I'm relatively flatfooted to normal myself. I am in between someone with little to no arch and the more normal end. Nothing is too radical or needs "lifting" is what I am getting at. I need cushion and comfort more.

I have been wearing Carolina Boot CA8528 boots for about a decade now. Was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis about 5 years ago & the podiatrist recommended Powerstep brand insoles specifically for treating the condition and have been very happy with them. Tried Superfeet brand insoles too and liked them but when boots became completely waterlogged the adhesive holding the top (fabric) layer on failed and the fabric peeled off. Working on Frac pads your boots don't last very long.

Just bought a cheap pair of steel toed hiking boots made by workmaster for $38 but they had alot of play from top to bottom and foot moved around alot in them, i still was able to work 2 straight 10 hr days in them and just added a set of the timberland anti fatigue insoles and they took all the play out of them and now feel like an expensive pair of boots, the other insoles had no cushioning at all and were hard on the bottoms of my feet, id say to just make sure u have some room in the shoe as they are probably thicker than what your shoes came with, if your shoes are already a tight fit top to bottom and have thin insoles in them dont get them as they would probably make them too tight on the tops of your feet.

Anti fatigue is the way to go, got a pair of the helix, resistor, and titan all of which I rock the anti fatigue insoles and never looked back 8 years handling hazardous materials in metal drums driving a forklift working also with oil and other hazardous materials and all my boots keep rocking and never give up. I have a pair of the helix boots for the past 7 years and still feel comfortable and cushioned compared to new boots. I made a mistake one year and bought a pair of caterpillar boots and after a week they felt like walking on concrete barefoot, never again. Also had a pair of red wing boots which after 2 months I found out why shoelace replacements are free and the boots wore out in about 6 months! Terrible boots red wings I also said never again. Stock3d up my timberland work boot collection and have no complaints! My boots are so comfortable I can go jogging in them!

Does anyone know how I can remove a sewn in insole in a pull on work boot so I have room to put in an after market insole without crushed my foot? Or is this even possible without deconstructing the entire boot? I have a favorite pair of insoles and i didn't pay attention to these boots before i bought them and there isn't enough room to put my insole on top of the sewn in one without limited the depth/height for my foot inside the shoe.

I've tried all kinds of insoles and like the soft squishy type the best with a lot of cushion. My Ariat cowboy boots come with a great stock one. So does my Danner USMC RATs and 8" Quarry.The insoles are also great in my Red Wing boots. I also like the insoles that came in my Carolina Kodiak Grizzly boots, Wolverine Durashock Fusion Max and Belleville USMC 590s. Interesting you mentioned the Thorogood insoles. They were very very uncomfortable to me, and I yanked them out of my Thorogood boots almost immediately. Put on a pair of discontinued Wolverine Durashock Fusion Max 8" boots and come back to tell me the Thorogood insoles and boots themselves are still comfortable. Is your Chevy Volt faster than a Corvette ZO6?! Don't think so.......

Nike make their Vaporfly running shoes with a ZoomX midsole. I'd like to see them experiment with an insole of that aerospace foam with a robust topping. Dr Scholl gel insoles are good but the fools make them from several pressings to be stylish and they just fall off. I now put the gel insoles under the original insoles and get a size larger or a boot with a big toe box.

A pair of boots only lasts me about 9-12 months, and I have not found that boot that is just right for me. I’ve gone between timberland, Ariat, Double H, Irish setter, and Red Wing. But any pair of boots that I buy, I alway out my red wing inserts in them. I always go to the red wing store and stand on their machine and get the insoles they say are right for me. I recently bought a pair of Thorogood’s and they didn’t fit quite right, threw in my red wing insoles and they fit like a dream now. So until red wing stops making insoles, I will always have a pair in my boots.

Unfortunately I would have to disagree with the comment that "most good work boots already come with an amazing insole". All you have to do is pull the factory insole/liner out of the boot, and see if you can roll it up in your hand. If so, all you are getting is some friction protection from the base of the boot and maybe some short term cushioning until the liner packs out. This is the bulk of footwear on the market. If you are looking for a cheap replacement insole, the brands mentioned above might do the trick. If you are actually looking to increase comfort, relieve/prevent foot pain and prevent foot injuries and foot health issues, you want a product that gives more than just cushioning, and the appearance of an arch through built up foam injection. The most important components here are a firm, supportive but flexible arch, a deep heel cup, the right level of cushioning for the type of footwear that you are putting the insole in, and a wear mold/heat mold option. This narrows the list considerably as the insole options are overwhelming on the market right now.

After Dr Marten's ruined my arch (work paid for them), I purchased Superfeet Green for my next boot, but bought the next size bigger to fit my arch. Acts like rehab for my foot! But if I had one of these recommended insoles earlier, I might not be doing rehab on my foot.

surfing636 I was thinking of buying those. Would you recommend them for tactical style boots? I'm going into the military and I have terrible arch pain so I can already feel the needles stabbing my feet on mile marches.

My opinion, yes! It's been a few months, and my arch pain is. Been working hard in the snow & ice, no problems with flexability. Just take the time to put them on the carpet & make sure it fills your arch. My foot size is for the E size, but the F size fit my arch & that's what I purchased.

all of the insoles mentioned here are not supportive enough for arch pain (plantar fasciitis / fasciosis). look online for Sole Softec insoles or Powerstep Pinnacle Maxx or the older Sof Sole Fit series that have a picture of a foot on the insole. your feet will thank you. Many people also like Superfeet green as surfing636 mentioned, but I found them to have too low of an arch. If youre already flat footed or close to it, the superfeet might be great, but if you still have an arch left and want to prevent it from dropping further, go with the others I mentioned. Also, roll a frozen water bottle under your foot at the end of the day, stretch your calves (look up gastrocnemius AND soleus stretches) and hamstrings. When the inflammation goes away, and it might take a few days to a few weeks, start performing exercises for the tibialis posterior, "short foot" exercises, and other exercises for intrinsic foot muscles, to strengthen your arch, but keep stretching and now you may even want to roll a ball under your foot to break up any adhesions in your plantar fascia. There are countless videos on YT the proper way to perform these techniques.

AliMD76 Thank you for that detailed reply. I really appreciate it. I screenshoted your reply so I can give those shot too. Did not know a lot about that. Thanks so much.

Tim Oldenburg, curious about that here as well. I just got a pair of Captains and they are not near as comfortable as their (paid) reviews say. I’m just not sure if I can fit in an insole in with the glued in one that comes in the boot
