As a comic book fan I thank you for this video. All interesting additions. Brath peaked my interest in particular. Slaine looks brutally awesome. I just might check out Saltire as well😊🏴🤟

I can't believe your honorable mentions didn't include Asterix and Obelix! Gauls, not Gaels but definitely Celtic!

Definitely gonna check out Brath and Slaine. There simply isn't enough media set in Roman Britain. "Roar" starring Heath Ledger was okay while it lasted, but it could've been far better.

R.E. Howard's Conan was modelled (somewhat) on the author's impressions of ancient Celtic Highlanders, although I don't detect that he had any exposure to traditional literature, like the Ulster Cycle, Ossianic poetry, etc. The Conan comics like The Savage Sword of Conan are still highly-regarded, and Dark Horse had a run which followed the original stories pretty closely with fantastic artwork.

Ah the glory days of 2000AD. Watching these stories grow a few pages at a time, week by week.

So, I'm glad you made this episode, and that leaves me with a not so serious question, what tartan do you think the Joker would wear, or would he have his own, and if so, if given full creative authority, how would you envision it?
@USAKiltsOfficial5 күн бұрын
Not a silly question at all... He'd wear the official Joker Tartan that Jack Nicholson wore! www.tartanregister.gov.uk/tartanDetails?ref=4615

The brath series is great and it has a sequel series that involves his daughter that i cant recall the name of. But ive been looking for the full run of both for a few years so they can be hard to find.

I was wondering if you had heard of "The Shamrock"? She was an Irish female superhero - I think. Do you know anything about her or if she is still an active character?
@USAKiltsOfficial27 күн бұрын
We have! Molly Fitzgerald (The Shamrock) is from Co. Meath and debuted in 1982. It doesn't appear that she is inactive, but there is no "news" involving her in any upcoming projects.

Wolfbane! And i adore Maisie Williams! 🐺 I don’t know if that is in her backstory, but i can very well imagine her being from Caithness…or maybe Orkney, traditional Sinclair lands. Orkney also having Norse culture ( no strangers to wolves ). Not to try to claim a Gaelic superhero ( not that Gaelic/Norse lack shared history even in real life ). The first Scottish character i was aware of in Marvel was Moira MacTaggart. …ofcourse The X-Men belong in Scotland. Look at the flag. That’s what i call hiding in plain sight. A tip, though he is more of a ”pseudo Pict”: Robert E Howard’s ”Bran Mak Morn”.

I think 'Slaìne' is pronounced 'Slaun-ya' (or thereabouts), varies slightly across different parts of the island of Ireland 😉

@@USAKiltsOfficial A critique/review of Tintin's kilt style might be a fun short review as a continuation of your Manga Heroes Series. Tintin is definitely my hero.
