James wanted to know if they were told specifically to be there, or if they had a choice of assignments they could have taken on and they reply with "no comment"? Weak. James answered their questions as best as he could. James expressed a genuine interest in knowing how they receive their tasks and go about doing their job and they couldn't give him any reply. The way James handled them right up to the offer of tea at the end was world class.

That guy is a legend he is so down to earth and true to himself. As long as the press are respectful to him he is respectful back. I love the top gear trio precisely because Jeremy, Richard and James all compliment one an other in terms of personality. Jeremy is brash and speaks his mind but has some great points and knows his stuff. Richard tries to keep the peace, inject a bit of humor and has his motorcycling background to bring to the car table. James is Captain slow, the thoughtful and more relaxed of the three presenters and perfectly balances out Jeremy and Richard. An enjoyable trio to watch for sure.

ANON USER500 A year of Top Gear costs about £7mil to make. That's about 2 seasons or 14 episodes (they generally split two seasons over a year with about 7 episodes each, though this has fluctuated quite a bit over the years). Most of Top Gear gains its money by the BBC pawning it off onto other channels across the globe, plus merchandise etc. With KZbin, the lads won't have nearly enough fire-power in the merchandise area, and it'd be pretty hard to sell KZbin videos to TV channels. Essentially, the BBC spend a bucket-load on making Top Gear, but make an absolute mint in return. To have the same quality, the lads would have to spend about the same amount of money, for VERY little in return in comparison. They'd essentially be making the show out of their own pocket. That's not to say they wouldn't make a lot of money from the KZbin videos, but they'd have to rebrand everything, because the BBC aren't just going to let their top show slip through their fingers. All in all, Top Gear on KZbin will never happen. I do, however, love the idea of watching James May continuing his Unemployment Tube, because it's awesome.

Dead serious: I wish James May would do more of these. He's brilliant at handling them; he's such a class act. The press folks could ring him up to ask what a good time would be, and he would give them a few minutes at his doorstep.

Needless to say, James was the wise one in the show. He acts so naturally. Probably the journalists are bothering him everyday and he still opens the door and talk to them like old friends. Generally English people are known for being polite, but James nails it, what a gentleman. Cheers from Portugal!

James May is one of life’s true gentlemen. He was born on the exact same day as my Wee brother Jason McLean. My brother passed away when he was 2 years old. Whenever I see James May, I hope, in my soul, that my Wer Brother would have turned out to be as kind, decent and nice as James May.
