How would you know how it was to be young in any other decade? everyone who ever lived thinks the time they were young in was best. It's being young that's magical, not the era you're young. The 80s were pretty grim if you look at them honestly. It's why the music was so vibrant - so much of the rest of the world was so awful and it was a form of escapism.

Bonny looks brilliant. The LA blonde glam combined with her luvvly Welsh accent and 'allo mum' character is a complete winner. Ordinary glamour, any girl at the chipshop could be her, it inspires.

These were the days of celebrities taking the Concorde to and fro, over the Atlantic. Very glamorous.

I remember when it mattered if your favourite band appeared on top of the pop's, I'm glad to say I got to see iron maiden get to number one with bring your daughter to the slaughter, and at the same time anthrax were in the top 20 I think with got the time. It's crazy how much time has changed the way music reaches people.

Pete Burns was really attractive before all of his surgery, it’s sad he felt the need to do that to himself.

Not mentioned on this show but Bryan Adams's Reckless was the best album of 85, well it was for me! Had some great singles and no rubbish.

Meanwhile, in South Africa, European acts were making inroads. The Italodiscotastic Silver Pozzoli was topping the chart. Alphaville and Modern Talking became two of the bigger acts on radio and we first saw Sandra, who went on to outsell Madonna in the sunny republic. Billy Ocean's "Loverboy" was the country's top-selling single of the year.

There was so much to choose from in the 80's and now songs which sound all the same with auto-tune.

Admit it I’m not the only one who missed the 80’s lol. You know you miss the 80’s and if you had a chance to go back you’d do almost anything for that chance. Lol Who else loved the 80’s?

Not really. The vast majority of it was utterly tedious. So many people have forgotten what life was actually like. They seem to imagine they lived in Top of the Pops. It was the era of utter boredom for the most part. Kids TV had shows like "Why Don't You" were specifically marketed to give kids ideas on something to do to alleviate the utter tedium. Remember the theme tune? "Why don't you just switch off your television set and go out and do something less boring instead?"
